Robocraft’s draw isn’t really on the combat. You can take away multiplayer and you’ll still be able to have fun with the game. A lot of articles about the game suggest that it's very similar to Minecraft. However, the most apt comparison for the game would be Lego. Not the Lego videogames but the Lego “build-anything-you-can-think- of” blocks themselves. Recently, a leak in the Steam API allowed everyone to see some of the most accurate player counts available to date. While the information presented does not fully represent hard sales data, it does count every player that has played a game with achievements more than once on Steam.

A fairly terrible list overall. The only excuse is that most of them are free-to-play games.
It's always strange to see what translates to mass appeal compared to what is objectively "better". I was surprised TF2 was at the top of the list overall (Other than the, once again, free-to-play status).
In the current generation, indie games have taken off big time due to the introduction of various social media sites like Twitch, Facebook and platforms like Humble Bundle, IndieGala etc promoting indie games more than ever before. Free-to-play arena shooter Robocraft is leaving Steam Early Access next week. The game has been in Early Access for about three years and calling it a full release doesn't change much at this point, especially since it's a free-to-play title. Still, it's a good reason for the devs and community to celebrate.
