Great price, some folks my not realize that XBL is stackable up to 3 years in advance.

ajames3473783d ago

That's very true, great point! You could buy like two or three of these (the limit is five) and bam, discounted LIVE service for years.

Excalibur3783d ago

Yep, it's almost 2 for 1.

FANTA11803783d ago

someone disagreed to your positive advice.

gotta love them haters.

Evil_Abed3783d ago

BT Games has an even better deal. 12 months Gold + 3 months extra + Gunstringer + Fruit Ninja all for R399.99 ($39.99)

VENOMACR12273783d ago

How is it possible to get a disagree on a fact? That's like saying "the surface of the sun is really hot" and get disagrees lol.

Xbox had a thing about a month ago that when I signed in to Live, they had a promotion for 12 months $35. I grabbed that up so now I'm good to go for about 15 months (had 3 left)

ScubbaSteve3783d ago

Saying it's a great price is an opinion.

Got mine for $25 at gamestop at then midnight launch

SovereignSnaKe3783d ago

Apparently the Promo code only works for Masterpass users, i.e You have to sign up (its free) but still, using Mastercard? What is this the 1980's?

TheoreticalParticle3783d ago

It's not the using Mastercard part that is out-of-date, (My debit card is a Mastercard.) it's the fact that there's an a card exclusivity in this day and age. They used to run those "No Mastercard/No VISA" ads back in the 80s, but every retailer pretty much learned that not accepting money from customers was a dumb idea and accepted both.

hollabox3783d ago (Edited 3783d ago )

Thanks for the info, just purchased for $40. Now I'm good until late 2015. I can recall getting Xbox Live back in the day for $30 off Amazon, usually stacked 2 years in advance. This past year the price has been sticking close to $50 or more so I couldn't stack in advance.

Update
Trollers are unbelievable, some people take crap too far on News for Trollers. You make a purchase to save money and someone disagrees with you. What exactly are you disagreeing with? I'm saving money? Or I'm buying Xbox Live for another year? You mention anything that isn't Playstation and trollers come out swinging.

TheoreticalParticle3783d ago

Buy.com through eBay was selling 1-year memberships for $34.99 + tax on Dec. 2. I wait until Black Friday every year. There's no way I'm ever paying $60 for Live if I can help it.

Excalibur3783d ago

Yeah I took advantage of an Amazon sale several years ago when they were $26.99, I bought 4 and was able to use 3 straight away, the following year I used the last one, at this point I'm good until late 2015 as well.

hollabox3783d ago

Yeah they had some great savings back in the day on Amazon, but lately they have been close to retail, now I get charge taxes on most of my purchases.

Kingoftherodeo3783d ago

Amazon always has the same deal every two months or so. Also if you let your gold run out and wait a few days you get a crazy deal

Xbox 360 Turns 18: Three Cheers to Live, Halo, and Red Rings

The Xbox 360 launched in North America 18 years ago, and is now officially old enough to buy you a drink in Europe.

darthv72148d ago

Great platform, and many of its games (not bc) still hold up well to this day. Like the PS3, I keep a 360 hooked up for those games you can't play any other way.

isarai148d ago

The last gasp of greatness from XBox, you are missed, except the RROD that was lame, but amazing exclusives until the Kinect dropped.

TheBrainZ148d ago

So many brilliant games. I still have one stored somewhere.

LG_Fox_Brazil148d ago

I really enjoyed my X360, some great exclusives on it. Used to play the shit out ot Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, two masterpieces

Newegg Reveals GPU Trade-In Program

Anyone ready for Best Buy evaluation. You have a 3090rtx hmm 25.00 Newegg Commerce, Inc. (NASDAQ: NEGG), a global e-commerce leader for technology products, today announced the launch of Newegg’s GPU Trade-In program, allowing customers to trade in an eligible GPU device and receive a trade-in value credit toward the purchase of a new qualifying card

PRIMORDUS204d ago

After all those videos that GamersNexus, (Steve) made about them and also went to Newegg and had talks with them I still do not trust them at all. I haven't bought from them in years, and I don't plan to anymore. I just have this feeling that they will pull some bullshit if you send your card to them. They will say oh it doesn't work or some other crap.

phoenixwing204d ago

Even if they say it works how much are they offering to pay compared to ebay?

Garethvk204d ago

Exactly. Plenty of buyers on Ebay.

PRIMORDUS204d ago

For my RTX 3070 $209.00 . This site $138.00 https://sellgpu.com/ but it's trusted. I'll just keep it being, it's from EVGA and they are done making GPUs I'll put it on my shelf😎

Garethvk204d ago

Or you pay full price for a new card and get a used one.

phoenixwing202d ago

Wouldn't surprise me with the way Newegg has acted.

I remember when Live turned five and they had special edition controllers made and everything. Kind of wished they would do that again for the 20th.

Orchard519d ago

Happy Birthday. OG XBL (and later 360 XBL) really revolutionized online gaming on console.

Crows90519d ago

Never understood the obsession with live...but I was gaming online on PC so not sure too much of what live did that the PlayStation didn't.

Profchaos519d ago

I had a PS2 and it's online experience was fine but it didn't have the same level of polish voice chat never worked for me but I was trying to play from Australia where not many people played PS2 online to the point where many devs simply dropped the online mode from the pal version.
That's not all PS2 games mind you there were plenty that worked perfectly but it was more on the dev and not the platform

During that era I also played a fairly large amount on online PC games and they were undoubtedly better than both systems. PS2 from functionality and Xbox because it was free

Playing my friends original Xbox it was a really polished experience it felt robust yet simple things just worked there was zero config.

Crows90518d ago (Edited 518d ago )

Yeah but the time ps3 came the experience was the same on both based on what I played...not too much online though to be honest. But I do think that the xbox did help bring online into the console space a lot. As well as PC games to consoles.

Profchaos519d ago (Edited 519d ago )

Today would of been the perfect day to drop halo 2 the original bc version free on gwg.... If only
