So will they clone him or will they revive him with new obtained pieces of Eden in the future to take on Juno.

I highly doubt Desmonds parents, long term members of the Assassins Guild will stand for their son being tested on by the templars.

I believe he will come back in some way.

ZodTheRipper3822d ago

Hopefully not, boring character.

Mr Pumblechook3822d ago (Edited 3822d ago )

Terrible article title.
I don't want to know any AC spoilers, they should be only for people who click into the article. and now you revealed that Desmond is in the game by putting it in the headline!

Please be mindful of people who don't want the game spoiled because your behaviour to gets hits spoils the Easter Eggs I would find in my own time.

Dual shockers is a great website but if you use your privileges of early access to games to ruin my experience and this will keep happening with your articles then I won't come back.

NukaCola3823d ago

Thanks for spoiling the game you jackaloons.

Abriael3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

You must not follow the news, as it was all over the news and officially announced by Ubisoft.

The fact that he returns in some form is no spoiler, as it's common knowledge.

Lucreto3823d ago

Since I have seen nothing of the sort it is a spoiler. The game has not been out 24 hours and people posting spoilers.

It it was 6 months from now I wouldn't have an issue but less than a day is not on.

Abriael3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

@Lucreto: the title has been changed, and this one does not includes any possible spoilers.

There's no rule on this site against spoilers. And the title and description warn the reader about them abundantly.

Heisenburger3823d ago

Oh shove it. It's a freaking spoiler.

Once again we have inconsiderate jackholes here using blatant spoilers as titles for hits.

Common knowledge.. Pfft

As long as YOU knew about it, then it's okay I guess.

Selfish.

AAWELLS093823d ago

It's def NOT common knowledge as I didn't know a thing about that and I follow dozens of gaming sites several times a day. The title to this article IS a spoiler whether you like it or not. It doesn't matter if the site doesn't have a rule against spoilers it's just common knowledge to NOT do it.

phantomexe3822d ago

i follow any thing and everthing AC and ubisolf said he dead...as in not comeing back. I wish they would bring him back but it's not gonna happen. ubisolf said hes gone they put that in the game because people was asking what happen right after ac3.

mhunterjr3823d ago

Well, to be fair, you did click on a link that says [SPOILERS] and "Be aware that this video includes some rather large spoilers, so proceed at your own risk. "

Lucreto3823d ago

Even mentioning desmond is a spoiler in itself. Spoilers should have been first.

TekoIie3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

Its on the front page and right at the top of the feed for me -_-

How do you just avoid that? Especially when spoilers is the last word in the title...

Is reading things backwards a new trend or something/s

Abriael3823d ago

And the game director himself publicly announced that there was a Desmond easter egg in the game
http://gamerant.com/assassi...

Much more explicitly than the title does, mind you.

Nitrowolf23823d ago

@Abriael

you assume everyone read that news? I certainly didn't. Regardless, it's a spoiler.

KillrateOmega3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

Are we really going to blow this out of proportion (I'm talking to everyone in this particular thread under NukaCola)?

Yes. Abriael should have put "[SPOILERS]" as the first word, but there's no need to crucify the guy.

What has even been spoiled? That Desmond Miles, a character who has appeared in every other AC game and is integral to the overarching plot of the AC series, will be in this game? Come now...

Heisenburger3823d ago

Try to have some empathy.

If you are defending him then you are just as inconsiderate as he is.

I'm not going to explain it to you. You clearly can't comprehend the issue.

lol

KillrateOmega3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

So what? Because I'm trying to defend a guy who is basically being burned alive for a relatively minor mistake and inject some perspective into the conversation, I'm suddenly 'inconsiderate' and, as you are implying, 'stupid'?

I fully comprehend your, and everyone else's, problem with this spoiler. Spoilers suck. They ruin the suspense for anyone trying to enjoy a product, but with the way you're all acting, you'd think that your entire AC: Black Flag experience has just gone down the drain over this.

Now if had been a major spoiler concerning the story and character of Edward Kenway, then that would truly be a tragedy, but it's not. It's a spoiler concerning Desmond Miles, a character who isn't anywhere close to being the main focus of this particular installment.

You want to play it like this? Fine.
Take your condescending tone and shove it up your, what I'm sure is a, well-fisted ***.

Heisenburger3823d ago

Dude you are completely disregarding his "too bad" attitude.

Nobody is even coming close to burning him at the stake, as you so dramatically put.

Did Abe even give the slightest sign of remorse?

No. So he doesn't need you defending him, when he is already refusing to admit any fault.

I apologize for my initial reply to you. It was uncalled for. It is just frustrating to see someone actually defend a guy that couldn't care less he ruined that for myself and others.

But that is no excuse.

KillrateOmega3822d ago

I have sent you a PM containing my apology and explanation. It was not placed here due to the risk of you never seeing it.

DragonKnight3823d ago

Man, Ubisoft is just content to butcher Assassin's Creed aren't they? This is ridiculous in my opinion. They keep moving further and further away from what the first game was about.

-Foxtrot3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

When I saw Pirates were going to get mixed with Assassins and they gave the 4th game a subtitle I knew they would start to drift away from what made the game...Assassins Creed.

It's going to be one of those franchises that drift off into other stories which don't even have anything to do with what the franchises was about.

I mean I've seen no talk of Juno in this game in the present sections. After AC3's ending she is the next threat and theres nothing on her.

If they were going to do this to Desmond and continue to reference him then they may as well of kept him alive. I know he's not interesting but he keeps the present sections together and gives them purpose. The next mission of theirs should of been "How do we stop Juno".

The third game felt it became more about the war, colonialists and redcoats and this game seems more focused on Pirates and Naval battles which would of been better off as a new IP.

Shadonic3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

I think it started to drift away after brotherhood or revelations. Ezio still kept to the creed and such but he just had a lot more characteristics to him. Conner and the current one Edward are just Meh, they can fight but there still sort of forgettable. Wouldn't say its butchered more along the lines of scattered. They need to take more time than a year to build a truly amazing character and story instead of what we've been getting.

DragonKnight3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

@-Foxtrot: Yeah, I immediately saw the laziness present in AC4 the second they announced that it was about pirates. It was clear that they ran out of ideas in AC3 and took the one thing everyone liked about that game to make another game in AC4. They then phone in the Present Day aspects when they could have retconned the whole Animus/Juno stuff and just made it about Desmond's Bloodline, but no they had to cheese in some Abstergo Entertainment angle that's a really lame tie in.

AC1 had the theme right. They should have made it Assassin's vs. Templars throughout history without any alien B.S. (yeah, I know that the end of the game had it, but it was such a non-focus for most of the game)

I used to dislike Ezio because I felt he didn't have that Assassin focus that Altair did and was too much of a play boy (though all the Assassin's seem to share arrogance in common), but replaying Brotherhood and Revelations has given me a better appreciation for Ezio as a character and it seems that that's where Ubisoft made a change in focus. AC1 was about Templars vs. Assassin's, AC2, ACB, and ACR were about the character of an Assassin, AC3 was about nonsense, and AC4 is barely an AC game at all.

I wish they would have kept it simple. The next game will probably be a flight simulation game.

@Shadonic: Yeah, they did. I don't think that the AC2 trilogy had the focus on Assassins vs. Templars as much as the first game did, but it still had a decent focus on it. They also tried establishing Ezio as the portrayal of a life as an Assassin because with Altair they didn't do too much. But AC3 was just terrible and AC4 is just too far removed from what should have been the main theme of the series.

I stand by my statement that Ubisoft are butchering what could have been an amazing and limitless franchise.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag vs Skull and Bones Video Comparison Is an Eye-Opener

Ubisoft has just released Skull and Bones on PC and consoles. And, from the looks of it, the game wasn’t received well by some gamers. Not only that but it appears that Skull and Bones can be worse than Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, a game that came out a decade ago.

I wanted a Black Flag sequel so bad. It's still my favorite AC entry. The fact that they ignored everything that we loved about that game in this "spiritual successor" is making me enjoy watching this game crash and burn quite a bit. Either do it right or don't do it at all. (I understand the legal binding they got themselves into with the Singapore government to release this game at all costs)

/grabs popcorn

isarai60d ago

My thing is, if the Singapore govt was forcing you to do it at all cost, why not make what people wanted? How did ubi delay it for 5yrs, then again for 1yr and not just make a similar experience to black flag? How do you spend so much time and make so little?

Chocoburger59d ago

Ubisoft did make a sequel, Assassin's Creed: Rogue. It has a short campaign, and its packed with filler side quests for upgrades, but it's still a decent time.

It released on the same day as Assassin's Creed: Unity, so it was mostly forgotten.

porkChop59d ago

11 years of development. Multiple restarts. All the while people have been saying they don't want some pirate game where you can't even get off your ship. 11 years of people telling Ubisoft all they want is a pirate game that's basically Black Flag without any of the assassin or animus stuff. Yet they still served up this trash that no one wanted, charged $70 for it, and had the balls to call it AAAA.

The Guillemot family honestly needs to be forced out of Ubisoft. They've doubled down on everything players don't like about their games, they want AI to create "rough drafts" of their stories rather than letting their writers do their jobs, and they literally do not give a shit what their playerbase actually wants. 5-6 years ago their stock was worth more than 4x what it's currently worth. The company is dying.

Jin_Sakai59d ago (Edited 59d ago )

What has happened to developers? How can you possible make a worse looking game 11 years later? It’s honestly mind boggling.

darksky59d ago

It's because the older developers were better at it. The new generation pass most of their exams by copying code from around the web so are not nearly as good at understanding what they are developing.

LucasRuinedChildhood59d ago (Edited 59d ago )

No, here's the truth:
https://www.channelnewsasia...
This was made in Singapore and it's the first game of this scale to be made there. Ubisoft would probably cancel it normally since it clearly wasn't shaping up well but they were getting government grants to try build up the industry there.

Do you really think game developers are radically different than just 10 years ago? And this game has been development since Black Flag released.

Using one crap game to trash a whole industry of developers is stupid. It's like saying "Alien Colonial Marines proves that game developers suck now."

yeahokwhatever59d ago

i know this to be at least part of the puzzle from experience.

senorfartcushion58d ago

It's the multiplayer aspect of the world. MP games look worse than single player games, period. Every comparison we keep seeing are for games like Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad and Skull and Bones. They all have multiplayer focusses.

SyntheticForm59d ago

God, I'd love a remake of Black Flag.

Yi-Long59d ago

Enough has been said about this game already. The gaming world shrugged when it was announced so many years ago, and instead of listening to all the criticisms from the community back then, Ubi just sailed on and kept making a game nobody really wanted. What a waste of money and effort.
