I still pay for UO since day one. For me, no MMO has yet to give me a similar feeling of importance. Dark Age of Camelot was close, though.
It's all about endgame, something every MMO in the last decade seems to have forgotten. I could care less about loot. Give me real open world pvp that has impact and lasting effects any day.
F2P MMORPGs have only exacerbated the problem of shoddy endgame content in MMOs. They can flaunt smoke and mirrors all they want, but the vast majority are good for maybe a week of play at best.
If Phantasy Star Universe servers were still open i would still play it.
