Assassin's Creed III - PC Performance Analysis

DSOGaming writes: "Remember when Ubisoft stated that it was putting a lot of effort on the PC port of Assassin’s Creed III? Remember when it stated that PC gamers would be happy – and proud – about the PC version of it? Remember when the company said that the delay of the PC version was in order to ensure that it would be optimized for the PC platform? Well, as usual, none of them were true. Assassin’s Creed III PC is an awful console port, with a DX11 renderer that is seriously bugged and does not perform as good as the older DX9 one that was used in all previous versions of Assassin’s Creed. Not only that, but the game does not take advantage of multi-core CPUs, meaning that each and everyone will be CPU limited in the blink of an eye."

Tired of developers doing this shit.Sometimes I fell like all they care about is money and they only have there attention on which system makes them the most money for there games....

lociefer4161d ago

i consider myself lucky i was able to finish the game with the lower than crap fps i was getting, i cant believe wut a mess the game code is

kesvalk4161d ago

good thing i didn't brought it then.

ProjectVulcan4161d ago (Edited 4161d ago )

Ditto. I'll consider this game as good as not out yet until it gets a couple of patches.

AC3 PC release date: pushed back 3 months or so for me.....

Snookies124161d ago

Whew, glad I stuck with consoles for the AC series... I'll be picking this up later on at some point for sure though. As a primarily PC gamer, this is just unfortunate to hear though. They need to get some new people in there that know what they're doing with PC or something, because this does not sound like an adequate job.

pr0digyZA4161d ago (Edited 4161d ago )

? ac series have had great ports on PC, and even this which is considered one of the worst still performed a lot better than the console versions.

Snookies124161d ago

Not from what I've seen. AC 2 looked to perform worse than the PS3 or 360 counterparts. I haven't seen how Brotherhood or Revelations perform though.

pr0digyZA4161d ago

Well there are lots of benchmarks for the second game that show it running perfectly, I personally have brotherhood and revelations and they run at over 60fps on a 560ti.

Sarcasm4161d ago

Snookies12, you probably need to re-check.

AC2, AC Brotherhood, and AC Revelations runs 60fps locked for me.

AC3 also runs buttery smooth for me too.

BushLitter4161d ago

I'm have an absolutely smooth performance. Running everything on very high except AA (which is on high). I have a an i5 and Nvidia GTX560. I did have framerate issues when running AA on very high when i was swinging through the trees, but just dropped it a notch and everything's smooth as silk.

I've played AC on PS3, ACII on 360, Brotherhood and Revelations on PS3 and now ACIII on PC

The latter has thus far been the best experience by far

If you look at eurogamer analysis console versions have frame drops to 15fps

KrisButtar4161d ago

from what i read and see, online pc gamers always seem to get the shitty end of the stick until the mods come out

Games with the dumbest NPCs

Non-playable characters in certain games are meme material, thanks to their foolish behavior. These are the big-budget games with the dumbest NPCs.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

Every Bethesda game and Every Halo game. This list needed to have Cyberpunk somewhere.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK261d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

Rimeskeem261d ago

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder261d ago (Edited 261d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188261d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer261d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle535d ago (Edited 535d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
