Pure Sophistry had the chance to Interview Harvey Smith- man behind the game Dishonored about the game- the length, the art and why you should pick it up.
"Yeah, a very unique experience seeing them working on your actual product. In terms of that, do you think personally that when you incorporate this Hollywood talent, it legitimizes an industry that should be legitimized but maybe not in some consumer’s eyes? Do you think there’s a component of that when you add these well-established names?
We talk a lot about artistic legitimacy. Already video games are ubiquitous and they already make a lot of money, but right now they are on the edge, like where comics are. There are some amazing comics. Like optic nerve. There are some amazing comics about relationships, fun home is about the death of a woman’s father and his coming out, comics aren’t just about super heroes, they are capable of a very high and low cultural lineage, and so far we have games that are mostly about action, t...
Marvel's Blade is being developed using Void Engine, suggested a new job listing by a Senior Lighting Artist working on the entry.
I wonder how many people who didn't buy Dishonored 2 or Deathloop are going to complain about Arkane making a Marvel game instead of working on an original IP.
well im not expecting this to be a graphical power house, especially based of what little we know it looks like it going be very stylised.
Either way, please let this be good!!!!! Give us the Blade/Wesley snipes game we always wanted!!
im just glad a blade game is coming seeing as the movie reboot is in shambles atm.
the first blade movie to this day is still my favourite marvel movie
What a coincidence! It's also being developed for the console everyone is aVoiding.
I was hoping the game was going to look photo realistic like a UE5 game, however, it seems the visuals will likely look like Death Loop. The performance of this engine is significantly better than UE5 so hopefully the gameplay will be fun.
The artstyle of the characters look like many will be top heavy with little skinny legs and feet.
Others look like they may have the look of that avengers cartoon where they were short but had big hands and feet, let’s hope it’s not that, always hated that look.
I hope the game is dark and the vampires employ a blink teleport style similar to how you used one of your powers in Dishonored. Lots of gun action with silver stakes and holy water, crosses and hand to hand combat.
Pete Hines is retiring from Bethesda Softworks after 24 years.
Im glad he leaving. Bethesda has been terrible under his leadership. Redfall, Starfield, Fallout76 and the list goes on an on. His leadership style is outdated. Hopefully, MS bring someone in that knows what they are doing.
I interviewed at Bethesda once, and while there were some very smart mid level team members, the upper ranks (EP/VP/Studio Head) were a total boys' club. The Madmen series ego in that lunch was stiffling.

Pete Hines was against locking out the majority of their console playerbase (ps gamers). Probably disgusted at the hypocrisy of white knight Phil assuring PS gamers that they can still play COD. Acquisition goes through, Hines goes out.
Goodbye Pete.
i wonder if he was asked to leave.
im pretty sure not everyone was on board with the acquisition.
CD Projekt Red has recently been commended for turning around Cyberpunk 2077, so why can't Arkane fix Redfall?
the recent update is a step in the right direction. Its a very different game now and still has some improvements to be made in the next big update. Glad that Arkane did not give up on this and is doing what they can to salvage their reputation.
Another Excerpt "For sure, play it your way, choices and consequences are just ways of summing up things. Games have gotten increasingly conservative. You go down a street, you can’t go down the alley or along the roof, and at the end of the street there’s an encounter, and it can only happen one way and only when the monster is dead, a helicopter lands and you leave. That’s very linear and very scripted, that is not leveraging the best part of games which is the interactive systems. What we try to do with dishonoured, and I think we care about this more artistically than we do the subject matter of the other stuff, the systems are there. You can go down the street, over the rooftop possess a fish and swim through the river. And then when you get to then end where there is an encounter you can avoid any conflict by manipulating the stealth mechanics or you can stop time, or fight them. There are even story based alternate resolutions instead of killing the key targets in the game. We care very much about the possibility space, giving the player the option of telling their own stories."
Sorry boycotting Bethesda.
Who knows what to believe after the PR & MarketIng lies.
And your opinion sucks cause it has no logic, and that's my opinion.
Excuse me, the word I was looking for was rationale, but they're the same thing.
