An eGamer journalist talks about recent EA franchises that were dumbed down for profit motives, affecting their potential as unique and innovative IPs.
Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.
Battlefield Bad Company 2, Dead Space 2, Crysis 3, and a handful other EA games have finally had their online services shut down.
I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥
BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.
Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!
Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
I cant believe what they've done to Dead Space...this could of been a great horror franchise and yet there already going down Capcoms ugly path...I mean its not even past the third game and they've already screwed it up
Console games going down hill EA bank account going up hill.
The casuals rule all of us. Thanks to the wii?
When gaming goes cloud completely I fear the worst from EA/Activision & even Microsoft. These companies are all about charging for any and everything.
EA in an attempt to please it's SHAREHOLDERS* at the expense of US the GAMERS* has been pumping out a bunch of generic games as fast as it can.
EA has lost ALL aspects of creating video games as a form of Artistic Expression and is just in it to make a buck for the shareholders*
Gamers = People who buy and play games for the Artistic and Fun Value of electronic entertainment! Gamers will be hook on Video Games for LIFE!
Shareholders = people who most likely NEVER play Video games but just have invested in EA to make a buck and will DUMP EA stock when it gets to a certain low point
EA needs to go back to making games for Gamers and say screw the shareholders!
and before you even say it.....Valve is a Private Company VOID of silly shareholders. Valve makes games and services for GAMERS and makes very close to a Billion dollars yearly.
@ATi &vortis
Agree 100%.
what happened is this;
with the wii and mobile gaming, the casuals came in untold waves of mindless lemmings, the devs and pubs saw this as their great opportunity to seize more customers beyond the "hardcore" gamer.....
they spent billions and dumbed down and dillutied franchises and generes to meet the needs of this new market......
....but.....what they didn't see was this, casuals only buy a few games a year at most, and they stick with a few single games, i have about 20 co-workers that only play madden, cod, bf or halo, and thats it, i know a guy who bought a 360 for halo 3, then bought reach and odst, thats the only games he has ever bought for it, someone got him rainbow six vegas and he freaking hated it....
hardcore gamers, the market these greedy pigs alienated, are now rebelling against the trash that has been put out over the last few years, and we buy less games now too...
the just of my long, liquir riddled rant is this
big devs, big pubs, and sony and ms (kinect and move...lol....) shat all over their only true fans, now they can sleep in the shit they call a bed
watch those numbers continue to dwindle, go make a cell phone game you pansies....i'll support devs/pubs like cd projeckt, from software, 4a games, obsidian (new rpg sounds freaking great) the new x-com is freaking great judging by the steam demo, buying that too
