The recent announcement of the fifth game in the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII came with a number of revelations. That the game will be more akin to an action RPG than previous FF games, that more of the world will be interactive and that the art design is going to be more specific and segmented than the first two entries of Lightning’s Saga. It’s already being considered a further blight on the series by fans but one of the more intriguing things is a feature that has been referred to as The Doomsday Clock.
Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.
