inferior hardware? no mate YOUR the one whos been feeding off M$ BS, every developer so far has said the the ps3's hardware is much more powerful but the ports dont look and perform as well as 360 versions because a lot of the power was locked away when they ported and also they were having a hard time getting to grips with the CELL architecture, so you my retarded friend are delusional from all that bs M$ shoved down your throat, how about i give a comparison?

ps3 cell= 8 cores running at 3.2 ghz
360 xenon= 3 cores running at 3.2 ghz

cod4 does this in a really awesome way, it blurs everything around your target when u manually aim. its a cool touch but im not sure if thats what theyre doing in those screenshots. the ps3 ones do look more clear.

I thought that, too, in the first place (and it might well, be true, but then, even the PS3 version has depth of field - just a little bit more in the distance). However, then look at the second (Graw2) shot, and you see way more details on the rocks in the background. And look at the volume of the dust below the helicopter. Just to point out some details.

Same for K&L. He complains about the AA (or actually no AA) in the PS3 version, then click on the shot and if there wouldn't be a "360" or "PS3" text printed on the image, you would have a hard time to distinguish which is which. - And both have AA.

So, well, I agree. Either this guys is just biased or he is intentionally lying. W/e. I think he disqualifies himself and the whole site is pretty pointless. This whole "lets do a comparison story" gets really old. We had that over and over again. And it only leads to threads where the green side argues with the black side forever. Useless. (I don't even know why I even read these threads, still).

This isnt "fanboy" bias -- it is confirmed over and over and over and over by every site. THAT is why when you goto METACRITIC, you'll find that Xbox 360 versions rate higher than PS3 versions of cross-platform games.

Have a look at this GRAW2 shot attached look at the doors (whats up with the 360 version) now in this article it says the screen shots are captured from the HDMI port well these pics look sharp so if the reviewer says he gets soft focus his TV must be a right piece of sh!t my PS3 looks sharp on my Hitachi Plasma!!!

i own both, the 360 and a PS3, i have a new 46" 1080p 120Hz Samsung, and i have no problems with my PS3 games looking washed out...i think the media is trying to make a big thing out of nothing...i am a Sony fan, but i also enjoy some games in my 360 and i agree that when the PS3 first came out the multiplat games looked awful, but the latest games like, NBA 2k8, Kane n Lynch, Assassins Creed, CoD 4, Orange Box, Burnout Paradise etc etc i cant tell the difference whatsoever, i like the PS3 controller better and thats why im backing the PS3 more :)

I live w/ my gf and another friend who is a girl, and though my gf likes to play games, my other friend has never liked them. Yesterday morning I woke up to her playing Lego Star Wars for the second morning in a row. LOL! Who woulda thought? I also bought my siblings the first half on PS2 and they play it more than any other game they got this x-mas.

But yeah, you're right, all those other games are crap anyway.

Xbox 360 games look better than PS3 games, they also run better than their PS3 counterparts, even after significant optimizations for the PS3s architecture the games still look and run inferior. Therefore, the Xbox 360 is more powerful based on the simple evidence that games look and play better on it than the PS3.

Technically, we know that the Xbox 360s GPU is more powerful than the PS3s. Also, the Xbox 360 uses unified shaders and memory and this allows the video to have access to the whole 512mb of RAM on the system , unlike the PS3 which only allows the GPU to use an insufficient 256mb. Also the PS3's firmware uses far more memory than the Xbox 360s dashboard, which does far more than the XMB for less. This allows more memory to be used for gaming than rather for non gaming processes. Then we must look at the infamous CELL processor, which has been proven that it is an inferior processor for games because of the nature of its much touted SPEs, whose capabilities are limited. Compared to the Xbox 360s 3core processor and its multithreaded architecture, the Xbox 360s processor simply put is far superior for gaming applications.

What we can deduce from these facts is that the Xbox 360 is the most powerful gaming console ever created.

What makes it really simple is to just compare the games, which system runs the games better and which system has the best looking games.

The answer is the Xbox 360.

Sorry Zhuk, but again you really don't know what you are talking about.
Yes the 360 has 512mb ram that can be moved to the graphics, but more you move across the less is left for the game code, whic is needed for such things as AI, plus having shared memory is not ideal, take PC's/Laptop's with shared memory and see how poor they are compared to PC's/Laptop's with dedicated GPU memory like the PS3 has.

hmmm nice try zhuk for once it wasnt a mind numbingly stupid post anyway you fail again- the spe capabilities WERE limited until sony and developers started finding ways to unlock its true potential which gives raw 8-core 3.2 ghz juice and also the CELL helps the RSX with the graphics and that is why we will soon be starting to see ps3 much more graphically advanced than 360 games. The RSX itself was designed by nvidia itself exclusively for the ps3 and it is basically on par with the 360 GPU (dont know its name) but with the help of CELL the ps3 transcends b3yond what the 360 can do, also blu-ray means that ps3 owners dont have to fiddle around with multiple disk. i know what you are going to say, multiple disks isnt that much of a problem but when games start to get really big, publishers wont go beyond 4-disk sets because it is a nuisance and with 9gb per disk that means you will never get games that require more than 36gb (which is getting more and more common every month- mgs4 needs at least 30gb so far) and for my final point i would like to provide you with a link:

As exclusives go PS3's are better without question. Heavenly sword for example runs at 720p with 4x AA. How many 360 games run at that resolution? None as far as I know even go beyond 2xAA. Not to mention hundreds of enemies on screen at once while every 360 game I've played, especially your highly touted Gears, can only muster 3-4 enemies to come at once.

Uncharted did the cover system better than gears and most people on these threads agree it looks better than any game before it with great AI. Gears AI sucked by the way. They may take cover briefly but quickly run out straight toward you and get shot. All you do is wait for it. Uncharted's enemies come while others provide cover fire and they try to flank you not to mention toss grenades if you stay in one spot and wait for them.

I've not played Bioshock (though I really want to because I do think it's great and I've heard good things) so I can't comment on it but neither Gears nor the flagship title Halo 3 can hold up to PS3 exclusives. Stop you're hating. I don't have a problem with 360 games or fans because they aren't bad but don't start going on about how "superior" xbox is.

Whats funny is that in the last gen Xbox being the more powerful console that proved it on every multi-play game still lost big time to the inferior PS2..

And now every PS3 fan screams of how powerful the PS3 is without realizing its about the games....and if the PS3 is so powerful, its getting whooped by the inferior 360 and the games even play and look better on the 360. WOW!!!

oh and 2008, its all about GTA4!! being the 360 has the exclusive content, with the right marketing everyone will know the full GTA4 experience can only be played on the 360.

2008 is not about MGS4....yes it will be a GREAT game but its not a system seller...just look at the sales of the last MGS, neither is God of War. Great games but if they sell less than 2mil on an installed base of over 100 mil....then you have a problem.

but bring on GEars of War, with already over 5 million in sales...dop you think part 2 will sell systems?? especially with the movie and books coming out? haha...

To be perfectly honest, I would have expected more from the PS3 in the first place. But that is, maybe, because some things are wishful thinking, and others are reality. I am surprised - and this is IMO a compliment - that the 360 can keep up that well. It has an edge in the implementation of straight forward known software paradigms. The EDRAM was a genius move by ATI, combined with 3 cores gives the 360 a lot of power (and leaves all 3 cores to the game - except if you need to pack a lot of data onto a DVD and need heavy power to decompress on the fly).

The PS3 needs to "emulate" a lot of that in multiplatform titles, unless the middleware is abstracted in a way, that the actual game does not need to worry about the underlaying HW. This goal is not always met, as it seams, which leads to the seen results.

Still, I am expecting more improvements in the next 12 month for PS3 titles then I do for 360 titles. The CELL has more untaped potential then the 360, IMO, but its still there for the 360 as well.

One good example is UT3 (and UE3). I think its the best UE3 based game I have seen on the PS3 so far (and maybe the best version of the UE3 engine). But if you switch back to UC, then you "feel" immediately what's missing. I have no insight, how much special PS3 features the last UE3 uses, but I would be surprised if it does vertex optimization like UC does thru the SPUs. And this is visible. I doubt the UE3 engine, because it would need to abstract the vertex reduction in a way, the game won't see it. This is usually very deep embedded into the rendering engine. Now, if you would do this multiplatform, this might well be a challenge. The same goes for the render backend, which does AA. On the PS3 version, this needs to be done thru the SPU (and different buffer handling), while the 360 might do that thru the EDRAM. These are two fundamental differences which might be difficult to hide from the actual game implementation and thus will usually break down at some common level. This is also a reason, why exclusive title can use the full potential of the specific platform, without cutting back on that common layer.
None the less, these cut backs seem to become smaller and smaller, and eventually they might even disappear (who knows). Latest multiplatform titles show this already, but again, UC shows, what potential the PS3 has (and that includes physics, AI and rendering) - no matter if you like the game itself or not.

But, besides that, I think it is just your personal choice. Choose what you think is best for you. Why not? Everybody has his/her personal preference.
