Positive myth-breaking Wii news such as this never attracts a lot of comments.

I'm amazed at how well Carnival Games has done. Then again, I shouldn't be because the purchasing behavior of the Wii demographic is very hard to predict.

Yeah that's a healthy list of 3rd party games. ^^ Myth breaking Wii stories will never generate heat for most want to stay in their ideal world of Nintendo being last and non-profitable to anyone but Nintendo.

It proves that 3rd party titles CAN sell on the Wii, and sell well. Unfortunately, for each of these titles there exists two pieces of shovelware.

Nintendo really needs to tighten quality control when it comes to 3rd party games. More games like the ones listed in the article will help.

Depends on your views of VGchartz, but by looking at the site, Wii has 9 over 1 million sellers from 3rd parties, compared to PS3's 7. But again, depends really on one's views whether he trusts vgchartz or not.

The Wii has 22 games with over 1 million in sales. 9 are from 3rd parties. the PS3 has 9 total games that have sold over 1 million with 7 of them from 3rd party companies.There could be more for both consoles but we wont know for sure until they say something about it. Vgchartz tracks NPD data as best they can but it is not always 100% accurate.

That isn't much of a list. The fact Red Steel sold so many copies was there weren't many games out when it was released. But with so many Wiis sold games should sell a lot more copies. But the truth is most third party Wii games stink. And most Wii gamers don't buy many games.

What do you mean by that? I don't get the question. The PSP is doing okay but not great but nobody is saying it's selling great. The Wii has sold well but third party games overall are garbage and even the good ones aren't selling in huge numbers.

Well it's subjective really over what games are good and not. PSP games average a nice score but with 30 million psps out there they hardly have any games that sold well.

Yes the 3rd party games have not sold as well for the Wii as the 360 but give it time. 3rd parties never gave the Wii it's due therefore just threw out games for it. Now they see people like to buy games for it, it's just a matter of making a real game rather than shovel ware. That list will grow. That last one they pointed out My Sims is a perfect example. EA made Boogie which was a quick cash in and bombed horrible (as it should of) while My Sims a game they put forth time and effort on is selling rather well.

Replace "Wii" with "PS2" and you have an equally factual account of the PS3's predecessor, which many consider to be the greatest console of all time.

The PS2 software library had an enormous amount of low-quality 3rd-party titles among a few high-quality ones. Some good quality 3rd-party titles such as Okami sold dismally.

That isn't true at all. The PS2 had its fair share of junk but it had just as many great third party games. Nintendo consoles seem to get good first party games but third party developers either make garbage for the consoles or their good games just don't sell.
