Analysis of how the Ratchet and Clank franchise has performed this generation compared to last generation.

VGChartz - "When Ratchet and Clank debuted on the Playstation 2 in 2002 the game enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success, going on to sell nearly 3 million units which is extremely uncommon for a new property. Each successive game in the franchise has seen a drop in sales compared to the previous game, the PS3 edition experienced the largest drop of ~30% from the previous entry, and a ~39% drop from the franchise's average on the Playstation 2. Still Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction has seen solid sales on the PS3 this generation, with the game's current total standing at 1.51 million. So why has the franchise seen such a large decrease in sales? Is it the smaller install base, a decrease in quality or something else? Read on to find out what we decided."
