its easy to gain 908% in one day when you were previsouly selling barely any to begin with...the npd numbers had come out for september and the 360 sold 528,000 units.....in one month....the ps3 sold likw 130,000..

lets wait and see how long the sales spike lasts for the ps3 since the same thing happened when the ps3 had its first price drop in july.....its elevated sales lasted not even two weeks before it sank back down.....

You guys think that is huge? Here in Canada the price dropped from 549.99 for the 60 GB to 479.99 and from 649.99 for the 80 Gig to 499.99....the 60GB is already sold out at future shop. This was a great move by sony. Then with the 399.99 model coming in november...sigh :\. Sales are going to explode.

all you guys stayed away from the NPD thread stating that the 360 killed the PS3.

unlimited: I'm sure Sony has a lot of good games coming out, but so far PS3 users don't seem to buy games. Look how bad HS sales are compared to 360 games. Hell I'm one of the ones that bought HS (son was done in about 2 days and doesn't touch it anymore).

Nintendo can't produce enough consoles. Price isn't their issue. Halo 3 launched too early. Three months before Christmas is enough time for the newness to wear off and people will want something 'hot'. New and hot as in a new and hot console.

The Halo effect has dropped off. The number of players is also dropping. There is bigger competition than when Halo 2 launched and as good as the game is it won't sustain the 360 sales.

What big guns are left that are exclusive to the 360 before Christmas? What exclusive big guns does Sony have left before the same day? What exclusive big guns do either have between now and March 08? The days of counting on multiplatform titles to look better on the 360 are over. CoD4 anyone?

I suggest anyone that can, to purchase one (or two) for themselves. They are great machines with a very nice return on investment.

I'm here enjoying a little R&R in Phoenix and then it's off to L.A. When I read this good news it just makes my vacation even better. SNE's stock is up 9% this year - this is great news for investors, plus Pachter believes the PS3 will sell a million in December.
