Starcraft player stabs girl after he can't get online

So he stabbed a 15yo girl on the street... What was going through his mind? Did he think it was her fault somehow? I hate how random these things are a guy just walks out of his house and stabs the first person he sees.

The article said she survived though, thank god.

This story is pretty vague. Maybe he was irate and the girl, who he may have disliked, was teasing him about being so enraged over a such a silly matter and instigated the shanking.

They have tried time and time again to prove that video games cause violence. The consent is that it causes no more violence or anger then watching the news...The media isn't going to blame themselves though so they use video game as a scapegoat. I wrote a whole 10-page essay back in college on this matter after doing research. There is no proof video games lead to violence hence why Jack Thompson hasn't won a case.

1st degree murder is classified as planning, An intentional killing by means of poison, or by lying in wait, or by any other kind of willful, deliberate and premeditated action.
2nd degree murder is classified as unintentional, Homicide committed by an individual engaged as a principal or an accomplice in the perpetration of a felony.
Third Degree Murder (aka Manslaughter): Any other murder when the intent was not to kill, but to harm the victim

He obviously did not plan the attack and losing an internet connection is not a crime or felony, however him attacking and stabbing was, thats why its manslaughter...thou this guy needs serious help, I've worked high speed tech support, people have called in claiming there going to kill themselves if they don't have internet soon. I've had a lady who missed two dialysis appointments while waiting for a tech to come fix her internet. I kinda laughed, personally i wouldn't miss the appointment, but man internet can't be as important as your own life...

No, the important thing here is that he wasn't of sound mind at the time. While what you say about first and second degree murder is right it wouldn't be the same thing as this(at least not in English law) where because he took the knofe oput he could be argued to be premeditating an attack-therefore the feeling that he wasn't all there is the important thing.

When they, probably, found no motive for attacking THAT girl they will have looked harder at the guy's mental state and, clearly, he isn't quite right. Maybe he finds it hard to relate to people as himself and this game was his primary interaction, albeit behind a character, and that's why it became so over important to him when he felt he was unfairly denied socialisation. Barmy, certainly, but not hard to see what might have been the issues leading to this-maybe the guy has a syndrome similar to Aspbegers that makes interactions with real people very hard for him and if it was left undiagnosed I can maybe see how he's ended up feeling like his world caved in over the internet loss. Sad, really, above anything else as to do this, in a tantrum, is not normal now, is it?
