OXCGN Attends Exclusive Ubisoft Night: Assassin's Creed 2 Launch Party, Splinter Cell & Avatar

OXCGN attends Assassin's Creed 2 launch and is shown footage of an Assassin's Creed movie and Avatar 3D game:

"What a night! Held at the excellent Oxford Street Darlinghurst venue (Sydney), the brilliantly presented Oxford Art Factory, which just oozes atmosphere, guests were part of the "Official Australian Launch of Assassin's Creed 2?, which will hit Australian shelves on November 19th and Nth America/Europe following on the 20th.

Not only was Assassin's Creed 2 on display for us, guests were given some actual hands-on time with two major upcoming Ubisoft games, plus more exclusive details and unseen items related to three of their major upcoming titles, Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction and John Cameron's Avatar: The Game.

Plus something else . . . and probably best of all, we had a fleeting snippet of ONE of the upcoming Assassin's Creed 2 – Movies."

Assassin's Creed movies and a 3D Avatar game? I just got my HD TV and now they have "50" 3D equipped True HD TVs" What??? I'll never keep up.

I'd love to play a shooter in 3D...or maybe it would be too real....

How does a 3D game work? Is it just like a 3D movie where you wear eye glasses...like with the Shrek one? Why do you need a special Tv...wón't it reduce sales if you need the latest tv?

True . . . and who ever said Aussie girls only like the beach (well, they do, but anyway) as there were heaps there on the night, and they certainly were nice on the eye and lovely to chat with.

The girls from the PR company were great, and really do know how to do their job and make everything run smoothly.

Great night, loved the 3D Avatar game, bloody fantastic, and the Assassin's Creed 2 movie - wow.

You mention Aussie Girls and the Beach and I'm off in imagination land before I can read the rest of your comment...

Well Australia is well known for its lovely beaches, beautiful mermaids and sun-seekers from all over the country. One needs only to check out Bondi beach on a warm, let alone hot day to see what I mean. ( http://good-times.webshots....

But it was great to see so many woman there all soaking up the games (as well as the amply powerful "Assassin's Elixer" that was on offer. Lots of Vodka and other "stuff" . . wow .. . and the girls and guys downed them like water.

ALthough, the great Aussie icon, the chilled beer was always evident on their hand, both male and female alike, we love our beer, sometime more than our women.

3 - Ubisoft are on a roll...
Really come to respect them this generation, been putting out some of the best multiplatform games this gen (Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, Tom Clancy games, FarCry 2, even the great Naruto games on 360!)

They'd have to be my favourite third-party publisher.

I'm with you! I am happy though that EA are trying to change and actually bring out new IPs though.

Mate, you will not be disappointed, if you are, I'll buy your copy off you, (no - not kidding!)

I played a segment of it the last time Ubi AUst showed it off to the Retail chains here in Australia a few months ago. (unofficially of course as it was on for demo (hands-off) purposes only on the night.

BUt knowing the Ubi official helped and he allowed me some moments with it. Seeing how it is now, you can see changes even in the last few months, and the game is unlike any of its predecessors were.

Your moves are much more fluid and even in the small semi scripted scenes, you still have control over Sam and thus change what can happen when that scene is finished, when it is, you move on, and the period from before, during and after is basically undetectable. Giving you the feeling that you are in control at all times (which you are basically) and that it's a seamless event from start - to finish.

His moves are far more gruesome, such as one time, after questioning an unhelpful bad guy, he twists the guys arm behind him, and drives his blade into the guys hand and pins it to a box, leaving the guy there somewhat 'stuck, and he then seemed to offer up the info Sam wanted.

There's just heaps to discuss about this game, which is why OXCGN is attempting to set up a special Sam Fisher story line page/s so that games who are new to the series or even gaming, can understand just what has happened, and how the game has advanced.

It was great to get confirmation, all be it unofficial, that both the Rainbow Six and GHOST teams are well into their production, and that we'll hear news on them soon, once Enzio has been set free on the villians in Venice . . .

I just think it's funny that Sam is clean shaven and now Max Payne looks like the bum....

I'm glad they aren't releasing Splinter Cell yet...too many great games coming!

I think Assassin's Creed would make a great series of movies.

I didn't really get into the last Splinter Cell but this one has me very interested. It will be interesting to see how the mark and shoot thing works.
