1.1 - ^Indeed.
But it would have been much nicer playing a updated version on XBLA running at 60FPS in 1080p. Let alone XBL online play.. *crys*

Goldeneye is one of the greatest FPS ever, fact. I remember playing it for days straight. Good times indeed. A remake is welcome, I don't care if it's on the 360, wii, or PS3, I just want one. (like PD on XBLA)

1.5 - ^ I also wouldn't mind what console it was on, althought preferbly PS3/360
The only thing is that if it was on the Wii it would be a straight up port, no updates at all.

while I can't speak for Wii owners, I don'T see why anyone would want Goldeneye on XBLA, I mean, PD was the better game anyway.
I know Goldeneye had higher scores, but it was also released years before PD, but when put head to head, PD is easily the more enjoyable game of the two.
Not to say that Goldeneye isn't a great game, just saying that nostalgia aside, PD has it beat in every single aspects. Also, the more memorable maps from Goldeneye made it into PD aswell as some of it's weapon. It also had a much deeper MP experience (deeper than most modern games actually, except for online play of course) and, in my opinion, a superior SP component aswell. Let'S not forget it also had Co-op and counter-op, something Goldeneye didn't have.

Yah i would prefer it on a next gen platform as well because they could update it but they also said they were putting options to turn off it all so if you wanted to play as blocks again you could! Sweet!
But its ashame its not coming on, but man Nintendo! Why! lol

As much as I think the rose-tinted glasses of time have made Goldeneye look like a better game than it really was, I do think it was a revolutionary game at the time and would happily welcome a port to XBLA. When I first heard about it, I set aside 1200 MS points just for this title, which eventually went onto Shadow Complex (shows how many XBLA titles I ever buy).
I don't understand how anyone could disagree with a modern port of a great game. The only reason I can see is that they're insecure about it for some reason, possibly because they know they wouldn't get it.

MS always has to crap in someone's mouth with things like this. In this case it affects more than the usual 360 fanboys. Now the Wii boys have a mouth full of crap as well.

if you have nothing to back up your comments with, kindly keep quiet.
it's been documented extensively that microsoft was even willing to foot the bill for the port to the wii version, but Nintendo did not want to give the green light.

lol just go for the middle man! but unfortunately i dont see this heading to any PS3 platform because Rare owns the rights to that game itself, which MS owns and EA owns Bond name then Nintendo owns part of the game too or something... Not sure if Sony has a hand in it anywhere.. correct me if im wrong :), no seriously

See thats what i thought after i posted. Im not sure if its different from movies, and games. Like if Sony owns the movie rights but EA owns the game rights? Who knows, it sucks either way, just 1 less game for us now.

7.1 - I'm in HS now
and I have one word that fulfills all my boring class time while a computer is available, Project 64 (OK 2 words). I Play Goldeneye all the time, just like when I had a n64 back in the day. Man I wish I didn't get rid of it would be played beside my xbox and my 360. Might get one for cheep. An XBLA/VC port would be great. Nintendo is turning down a wad of money over this. But then again, Regie is a dumb@$$

Can the Xbox 360 handle the graphics of Goldeneye 64, given its biggest franchise renders at a PS1 like resolution with art assets straight from the SNES era?
