Weell, what a load of old sh1te that was Konami. You choiose to celebrate the anniversary of one of your best ever games by releasing stuff for the least popular(mainly cos of your immensely daft ID system)part of it.

Bunch of fools. Trophies would have made more [people buy the game you fools and , maybe, if you then dropped the ID's more people would be on MGO. Most MG fans are fans because of the stellar SP and not the MP so why ignore them? You also realise that a bonus chaapter would boost the Platinum sales don't you? NOONE is going to give you any cash for this slop-a few of us that still play MGO might find some of it useful but, really , you let many people down with this underwhelming crap. Idiots.

Its the best game out right now. Has a ton of secrets/perks to do with actual ingame benefits. The Stealth Suit/bandana etc.

I understand trophies for things like... PAIN and blah title 6. But MGS4 is amazing every time you pickup the controller and installlllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll l llllllllllllllllllllllll then play.

I dont understand how you guys can act like you love MGS so much, yet wont play it again just for fun?

Maybe I'm having fun wrong. But it feels fine to me. Just my opinion. Also, people do play MGO, just like people Play Home. if you dont, thats you.. but dont pretend its absolutely empty. Its really not that hard to sign up with konami. and write down a login and password. I mean come on. its silly? but its not strenuous.
that is if you want to play..
Ive finished the game on all the difficulties minus The boss hard iirc.Played through without alerts.. played through without killing.. im willing to bet that iv'e played through it more than the trophy fanatics.And the crazy thing about each playthrough, is that there is always something new I didn't catch. Or a new route.

The only thing stopping me from playing it again is i haven't unpacked my ps3 games.

They hold tournaments every Saturday and Sunday night. This is BS and while MGS4 is a great game without trophies adding them might have made fans happy and brought others back for another round.

Yep, you are correct. If you think no one is playing MGO log in on any day of the week and see for yourself. I think Wed - Fri are the heaviest because of survival.

I still think them holding a tournament they have every Sat and Sun on a Tuesday is lame

@Greywulf: Don't get me wrong, I think the online content is probably good too... but the core MGS market is single player. It wouldn't have killed them to release something for that, would it? Trophies would have been nice, even if they were just the exact ones that you're earning in the game-- let the guys who earn Big Boss status have a Big Boss trophy to show off with, you know?

I'd buy a single player extra in a heartbeat, too. Give me Snake Tales or give me... erm... I dunno. But just give me the Snake Tales, Konami. :D AU is fine. Put some (living) bad guys in the Shadow Moses map with a little story, I'll buy it. I was hoping for something like this rather than MGO content. Online was a bonus, I guess. I don't really play MGS for online.

They added shadow moses to mgo, for mgs fans that's big (if not for you fair enough but obviously core mgs fans want this).

Also for the past year singleplayer has received dlc for free have you missed it? Just because they haven't been in the media spot light held up as saints like the burnout team has been doesn't mean they haven't been doing it.

I'm a "core" MGS fan and I don't give two sh!ts about MGO. I wanted something that I can use and out of five announcements, I can use none. I still have my PS1 copy of MGS1 and I don't touch MGO. Thanks for nothing, literally, Konami.

I refuse to play MGO because the ID system is messed up. A Shadow Moses online map is hardly big news and neither is downloading weapons and camo in the game.

DLC - VR Missions or alternate missions. Something big. Multiplayer maps in games are not a big deal.

look at any game on the ps3 prior to sony forcing developers to implement them[pre 09] and most third parties didnt bother. achievements since day 1, trophies are spotty and a copy cat job. You will find no acts of encomium from me on this.

I find no acts of encomium, but I do see ignorance. I do believe MS had to make Achievments for 360 mandatory from day one. Are you implying that MS's achievments would have been supported better than Sony's had they not been mandatory?

If you are just saying that when trophies launched they were not supported as well as achievments were then why not just say that? Who isn't aware of that fact?

The new generation of gamers don't understand that actual in game things like items, modes, costumes, secrets used to be unlocked as part of the game (rather than purchased with money after release) and thus equate trophies/achievements to be unlockables (when in reality they are just pieces of useless text).

If people can't have fun with one of the greatest fan devoted games in recent years without a virtual pat on the back perhaps they've picked the wrong hobby...

and i love trophies I like achievements i just dont like the score of 20k gamer score is all I have almost 900 trophies and me and friends are all in competition and were all above 30 so say what you want but just because they don't appeal to you doesn't mean anything dog your always on about stuff that you don't like and because of that you say it sucks and belittle people opinions. I love trophy because i liked getting gold medals and silver medals in real life like sports but i also like achievements and i bet you cant name many games i haven't played on every system made. yes i had a jaguar a 3do a 32x and the most underatted system ever the sega cd. ohh and Atari and commodore 64 hell i even had a card reader like 25yrs ago. LOL just saying hella people like them hella people dont the majority of these posts want them so i would say keep your opnion of putting stuff down to yourself you are the minority in this forum. other then that game on people dont let hate override fun.

Same here. I am VERY disappointed.

For the record, I have beaten MGS4 a multitude of times and have earned the Big Boss Emblem as well. Even then, I STILL would like to see trophies. I don't feel enough of an urge to play it again unless there are the long awaited trophies patched in.

They did source it man. According to the post they were sent the release by "one of Konami's press contacts".

Still waiting to see it on the Konami site as well, but also don't attack me for posting something that isn't sourced. They are the source until other gaming sites get off their duffs and start posting what Konami sends them too.
