The Best Game Demos Available on Xbox Live

Xboxist.com writes:

"To save you the work of doing it, we grabbed as many demos as we could on our super-fast connection and played through them looking for the best ones. Our criteria for determining whether or not a demo finds its way onto this list is as follows: the game should be easy to pick up and play, it should offer a good amount of content, and above all else, it should be fun. Here are some of the gems we discovered amongst the pile."

I wish that more developers would release demos, but I tihnk many are scared that the public will find their game crappy and not buy it.

I thought the demo for Pure was awesome. I don't typically like driving/racing games, but I downloaded the demo and loved it. I picked up the game as soon as I could. Without the demo, that never would have happened.

4 - DEMOS ?
is this what bored people do?
Try to download as many demos as you can until your hdd fills up?
and then spend hours deleting them. Thats not fun.

Super fast connection ?
lol, yeah right.

Oops I didn't mean to agree. But yes, sometimes when I get bored I just download a few demos I haven't tried and play them. It's something new, what's wrong with that?

What's wrong with downloading demos, there're free? You need to step outside and breath some fresh air.

6 - You know, I've never once downloaded a demo on either my 360 or PS3.
Back in the day before this thing called the internet really hit it big, I played demo's all the time, usually from disks included in gaming magazines for both my PC and PS2/Xbox. Now, everything and anything you want to know about a game is up on the net weeks before the game is released. If I want I can read countless reviews, opinions, watch gameplay footage so I pretty much know without a doubt if I'm going to enjoy a game prior to picking it up.

The only time I've been burned with that this gen was actually with two Rare games, oddly enough. On the 360, Perfect Dark and Kameo. The reviews looked great, gameplay looked great but when it boiled down to it I just plain did not like either of those games. I tried multiple times to get into each of them and just couldn't do it. There was nothing about those games I liked.
And Battle for Middle Earth 2. I bought that used based on the reviews but RTS games don't work on consoles for me. That was a $30 dollar lesson learned that might have been avoided by trying a demo.

Edit: You know. I kinda wish I had rented a Wii before I bought one on launch day. I tried and tried to like that console - had all the top reviewed games for it and ultimately ended up keeping it for a year before saying "Ok, this is stupid. Why own a console you never play?" I sold it to a co-worker just before Christmas, and now he and his wife are not playing it, but I have an extra $400! I wish there was a demo for the whole console! I guess they could have said "Ok. Point your TV remote at the screen. Now wiggle it and imagine you're playing a game and doing that for hours. Congrats, you now know what it's like to play a Wii!"

I take it you liked every single game on the PS3. We all know you're biased towards the PS3, already. Nice try. Kameo was great, PDZ was the most played after Halo 2 until GRAW and then Gears of War. Folks still play PDZ now.
