A look back at some of the scariest games ever made. Classics are usually more well thought out than the new scary games. The only thing I can really say better about the new releases are better graphics but otherwise, classics have always been able to give me the chills.

its a shame resident evil 5 isn't as scarey as the first. resident evil 1 is heart pumping torture, res 5 is just a slaughter.

1.1 - Silent Hill 1...
Is certainly MUCH scarier than Resident Evil 1.

Resident Evil 1 was more of a thriller than a horror game. Yet, Silent Hill was much more of a thriller AND horror game than Resident Evil.

Besides, Resient Evil 1 wasn't that scary! It was but it's not the scariest game of all time.

I play all resident evil but dead space and silent hill I think they are f#*$ing scary games I ever played but dead space got gold for me that $#!* is so evil and sound is too scary, I have to stop playing it for a day or few cuz my heart pump so fast that I get nervous, seriously lol.

Ah!!! And Bioshock is not too far from those, that one really is something serious.

Bioshock had a scary atmosphere. Not sure if it can be in the top 10 though. Dead Space should be in there.

I remember when I was first stationed in Hawaii and I was playing silent hill 1, Then the sirens came on and I could have swore I heard them outside my house. I went to the door open it and you could hear sirens all over the island. I didn't know this at the time but at the beginning of the month they would test out there hurricane alarms. Yeah it was the most frightening thing ever.

hmmm wheres Clock Tower series.... im sorry those games scared the bejesus out of me when I was younger.... scary ass dude with his big scissors and the lil kid with a kitchen knife... wtf~! lol..... if you dont know what im talking about its a point and click game for psone...

Silent Hill 1 was the first game that forced me to play it during daylight when I'm alone. The elementary school was the scariest part. The first time that radio started to make the static sound and that little gray creature lurks out of the darkness...that was scary shiet right there.

No Cthulhu, but I pretty much agree with the top 5. Play Cthulhu, and you'll find out why I said it. I installed, played for a little bit and uninstalled because I was scared sh!tless. I was playing in the dark alone though....

18 - This is list is crap lol
Some of the titles r scary but the order is all wrong, SH2 is a lot scarier then most of the ones on the list excluding Fatal frame n the first SH, all the other ones r not that scary at all, the First Fatal frame was scary as hell, the second one as well, same goes with the first 2 SH games, n system shock is also scary, RE series really not that scary at all, need to change the list a lot.
