Vesperia Devs Thank Xbox 360 Beta Testers

Sankaku Writes:
The furor surrounding the Xbox 360 beta version of Tales of Vesperia refuses to abate, with the Namco developers responsible pouring oil onto the flames by thanking the "players" for their contributions in allowing a better PS3 version…

I can't open the link its blocked at school, but do they really say that? Holy F then, thats not something i would expect a dev to say. Dam that like a big Middle finger to 360 fanbase user. I mean to say its a beta version and release a ps3 version and say its the superior version. Whoa.
sorry if im off, like i said i can't open the site at school

' “Xbox 360 players often complained ‘why aren’t these parts voiced?’, so when making the PS3 version we first set about improving the voicing … As a result, the entire main scenario became fully voiced.”

“We’d be delighted if those who played the Xbox 360 version would play the PS3 version too. Of course the same goes for those playing for the first time.”

“We made a lot of changes we think Xbox 360 players would be sure to appreciate.”

“There are a lot of elements from the Xbox 360 version which were improved, so please give it a try.”

“Based on the feedback so kindly provided by Xbox 360 players, we added a lot of additional elements.”'

Thats the excerpt that they are basing the title on

Holy Crap. What a backhanded thing to say. I bet the article is just some snarkaholic talking about how PS3 version is the "real" version. What an asshole.

And no, this article is blocked because of "Sex". Thanks for getting me fired...

The dev did not say that, it's whoever wrote article for that website. The website is blocked for good reason. They all love hentai and have it pasted all over the website.

If that's what it says, then that's not close to being as bad as the title for this page says.

If this game came to the US, I'd gladly buy it again for the new stuff.

Dam, so the ps3 version gets allot more then just those additional characters, and color update. I can't wait for this game

This is the definitive version, but as with Sigma 2 I expect some sites find a way to score it lower than the 360 version. Something like "compared with UC2 it doesnt look too hot" 7/10.

Namco is doing the right thing, giving PS3 owners good reasons to pick this game up after such a long wait.

I still can't get over how they cut the blood out of Sigma 2. Doesn't sound definitive to me.

Yet at the same time gave the ps3 version updated graphics, extra characters, new weapons, and even a multiplayer co-op mode.

Sounds definitive to me! :)

It's a complete misnomer to say they 'cut the blood out' out of Sigma 2. It's still an extremely gory and bloody game. I don't even notice the "extra" blood on the 360 version when I play the two games back to back right now. It's all so fast-moving, the camera zips around while you're jumping and dodging, and in general you just can't even tell the difference. And after the battle is done, the ground is littered with blood and body parts in both versions of the game. Complaining about the gore is ridiculous. The graphics, textures, lighting, frame-rate, and camera are all improved, they added new segments, new bosses, and a new co-op mode. So yeah, PS3 version is definitive.

They don't say anything of the sort. Basically, they just say that they hope those who played it originally on the 360 take time to play the game again.

I wasn't referencing the title. I read the article. I know that title is "doctored".

I was saying that it's messed up because 360 owners were used as feedback tools to make the ps3 version that much better

Just to show you that Jrpg games don't pay the bills even with some development funds from M$ on the 360 so they instead have to release a improved version for the ps3 the home console of Jrpgs. If M$ never paid for timed exclusive this game would've most likey never ended up on x360 at all.Ok my rant is over but this sh!t is too funny

8.1 - And you know for a fact
That Microsoft payed for exclusivity?

Why is it that anything Microsoft gets, they payed for it? But Sony is just handed everything?

Its not like the 360's home user base is small. It may not be large in Japan, but it has a good size in the UK, and has its biggest support in the US. Maybe developers just want to take advantage of that and reach out to as many gamers as possible.

Its silly to think that Microsoft buys everything to have on their console. I'd understand if we were talking about the original Xbox, as 3rd party support was hard to come by then. But these are different times.

IT was confirmed that MS paid for timed exclusive deal. Then Sony decided that unless Namco add extra content, then they aren't allowed release it on the PS3, which is fair justice for backstabbing for a lil bit of pocket money.

Well all i can say is that aside from the graphics and extra chapters Sigma 2 is basically the same thing BUGS, Frame rate drops and all. Ohh and in some parts the controller lags as well. But in the end its a kick *** game!

if you really loved this game then you'd do the proper thing and sell your 360 version (like i did) and buy the ps3 version (if and when it comes out over here... else you could play asia it and import that bastard-loving the no region lock on the ps3 baby!)

Some people are just culturally retarded.. Japanese people are quite well known for being friendly and respectful. I'm sure the devs meant no harm and didn't mean it to come off as it did. Even if you don't believe me, just use a little thing called common sense and realise no developer in history would ever have the cheek to come out and say something like that.
Shut this user up Let user speak
nolifeking - 54 days 4 hours ago
13.1 - Ever heard of a back-handed compliment?
Regardless of how it was meant, anyone with common sense would gather that they were basically saying thank you to the fans that helped them make a better version on the rival console. If I were in that situation, I would be a little pissed, playing a game only having it come out later, in a superior state. Makes getting stuff early suck.

Couldn't you say that about any game that comes out after the fact and has bug fixes and additional content added? 99% of the time the delayed version is going to be improved. I prefer the delayed versions for that very reason. I'm not in a hurry to get to a lesser game quicker.

please dont try to rationalize and justify your obvious intent to just pirate the game .

360 owners hardly got rooms for complaints here . It was easily the best jrpg of the generation , saves maybe demon souls and Valkyria chronicles and it was exclusive for a good while .

It's a completely finished product with no know big flaws or bugs . it runs and play fine . using the whole "meh i'm mad i was a beta tester" thing is a retarded reason to boycott an otherwise great game .

It kinda tanked in jrpg land and didnt make such a splash in the west . If you're actually a Tales of fan , you knew it would happen the minute sales result came in .
The same happened when Namco wasnt thrilled by Symphonia's result on gamecube , and then met a much more expected result on ps2 .

Yeah you are right BUT i dont cheat all the time i have two 360 one modded (Which by the way i rarely use) and an unmodded. Both systems were bought new in box full retail. Besides the only reason WHY i have the modded system is to try out potential buys, i am tired of getting shafted from all of these stupid return policies and well since now a days most games dont get Demos till they get released so yeah. Anways all i can say is that this version of vesperia is not worth buying. I will however pick up the PS3 version IF it gets released here in the US.
