Next Gen Ports: Why I'd Happily Buy Them

66d ago ... As someone who has bought a PS3 and Xbox 360 I've played my fair share of games, some of them I've loved like the Mass Effect series for example, I've had years of pleasure from my first steps on Eden Prime to the Infamous ending at the Crucible, But I've had more than enough time to enjoy myself and move on to later games. Now this is not a feeling I'm having with the likes of The Last Of Us a...

miiverse.nintendo.net < the real evil

66d ago ... what is the miiverse ( Mii universe), I'll just copy and paste this nifty little piece ---- Miiverse allows users to seamlessly share accomplishments, comments, and hand written notes with other users. Miiverse is integrated into the system menu of the Wii U and 3DS, but social interactions can also occur within supported games and applications. ---- As we all know we are not free to thin...

The Power of Thought vs Flappy Bird

68d ago ... First off, before I get into the subject, I am not really sure where this post should go, but I know it's kind of an off-topic subject. it only contains one paragraph and a few sentences here and there about gaming, and it's mostly to get my main point across. Anyways for the moderators:- tell me if this is the right place for the blog subject, as I can't find any off-topic or general sections...

Death of the Console FPS

68d ago ... In a time before the micro-transaction, the glittering brightness of 1080p and the unflinching fluidity of an unbreakable 60 frames per-second, there was a period of simplicity and incredible design. For due to the remarkable feats of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Halo 3 before it, 2007 provided us with two of the most ground breaking and unmistakable first-person shooters ever created....

The Last Of Us 2: My Prologue

69d ago ... If Naughty Dog do decide to make a sequel to The Last Of Us (and I believe they will) then there are myriad possibilities. The world they created is vast and complex with factions and personalities ripe for the taking, but what I present here is my own personal synopsis of a possible prologue: Scene 1: The camera is zoomed in on a TV. A reporter is speaking hurriedly and nervously into a...

Since the Nintendoomed hype train is still in the station…

70d ago ... So, according to some on the internet, Nintendo is in a lot of trouble and there’s a lot of hoopla surrounding what they’ll do next after their most recent earning report was shown to be quite disappointing. This topic and the so-called “Nintendoomed” hype that’s shrouded the company has made the rounds in many places already, but I still had an interest in making a blog about it because I’ve...

5 Reasons Videogame Movies are Terrible

71d ago ... I have been an avid gamer my whole life. Coming from a poorer family I was always one generation behind; got a Genesis when the PS1 came out etc... Because of this I actually started gaming on the Atari 2600. I have watched games progress and improve over 6 generations of gaming technology. What I haven't watched is movies based on games improve with time the same way. Currently Hollywood...

Ground Zeroes: Worth it?

71d ago ... There's been a crap-ton of people that all of the sudden want nothing to do with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. I'm here simply to clear the air. The game isn't 2 hours; only the main mission is 2 hours. There are side missions that probably bring that total to 3 maybe 4 hours. Also, Metal Gear games tend to have VERY high replayability. So you're probably going to get like 10 hours out...

Best Next Gen Graphics. And the winner is....

71d ago ... Okay, so there's been a lot of talk about which game has the best next-gen graphics. 2 names constantly come up, and that's Ryse: Son of Rome for the Xbox One, and Killzone: Shadow Fall for the PlayStation 4. What looks best to each of us is highly subjective, but here's my opinion on the matter. And to me the best looking next-gen game so far are between Ryse, Killzone, and Battlefield 4....

Random Gaming Memories of Mine

72d ago ... Today I was looking at my collection of games and out the corner of my eye I saw the first game I've ever owned. It's Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis! Now pay close attention to what I said there, first game I've ever owned, not played. The first game I've ever played was Super Mario Bros. So yes Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the first game I've ever owned and I was blown away by it. It wa...

Why I chose Xbox One

73d ago ... Ever since Sony announced the PS4, the decision on which nex-gen console to choose had been plaguing me. Like many, I was a PS2 owner who switched to Xbox when Halo 1 arrived on the scene and later purchased a 360 when that came out. I was always happy with my 360, but occasionally I'd look over to the Sony camp and become a little envious at all the Naughty Dog action going on over there. T...

Will Metal Gear Online cross into the Phantom Pain's story?

74d ago ... I don't know if this is news to anyone, but I can't help but ponder this question, especially after coming across rather convincing evidence after a recent re-viewing of the red-band trailer for Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain. A long while ago, when the first real trailer for Phantom Pain released, many people noted that there was a third, unseen character in the opening scene. As doctors...

Bromance

74d ago ... February is upon us and what better way to honor the month of romance by doing a blog about the best videogame love stories. Unfortunately, before you snuggle up with your girlfriend in front of the fire to read my Valentine’s Day blog (on whatever smart device you two will be sharing), I’m going to have to get my testosterone levels up...now it was either this or eating tons of red meat and I...

Breaking News! GTA Online Isn't Fun Anymore

75d ago ... Well, I already know what most of you are thinking. You're either rolling your eyes or pursing your lips at a potentially inane opinion regarding last year's most anticipated title's online component. I must confess, despite the headline, I still play Grand Theft Auto Online regularly, but more often than not, I find myself yawning after about half an hour. Grand Theft Auto Online simply isn...

N4G 'Gamer Type' Quiz

76d ago ... A study conducted at Cambridge College - directly north of Boston, Massachusetts - determined that not only do video games provide psychological stimulation, but that there are four different types of gamer personas that individuals embody; sometimes one more than another, sometimes a mixture of any or all of the four and sometimes strictly the same persona. In 2013, Dr. Ort-Meyer (docket NC...

Sony, We Need To Talk

77d ago ... I was just reading the article here on N4G where Sony said they don't expect the Vita to sell as much as the PSP and I was pretty disgusted. It's the inspiration for this blog and I will cover a few things I am either disappointed about with Sony, or what I would like to see them do. Sony, you need to stop half-a$$ing your handhelds. If you don't intend to throw your full weight behind a han...

New indie Kickstarter project: Distro Horizons VS Galaximo's Army

77d ago ... I'm not one for plugging Kickstarter projects, but I like the concept for this game so figured I'd bring it to everyone's attention. I will say this however, Distro Horizons VS Galaximo's Army is currently in a pre-alpha build, so much of what is available on the games Kickstarter page is for demonstration and proof of concept purposes only. My blog here is intended to fill you in on some de...
