I'll remain consistent in my distrust of VGchartz. that said, I expect Sony to keep on outselling the 360 through the rest of the year. Unless the Wal-mart type deal becomes the norm, or MS makes Live free, I don't see 360 outselling PS3. Nintendo may also fall to second on a regular basis now. It's an exciting time for gamers as all these companies are fighting tooth and nail to get our dollar.

Tekken was a big let down. The beat em up campaign sucks, having to beat the beat em up campaign to get characters to beat their story mode sucks, long load times suck, people being allowed to drop out of ranked online matches suck, paying 2 million dollars for a ponytail or having to buy the same shirt just to get a different color sucks, cheap boss characters suck, and so much more.

The main fighting aspect of Tekken 6 is great as always, but there are just way too many problems with it to be considered a must buy.

Hey, what did you expect? That's what happen when Namco wasted their time with a 360 version too, instead of focusing on making one version. Namco divided their resources so thin that Tekken 6 never had a chance.

huh. PS3 gamers really like those Fighting games. Either that or people with multiple consoles just chose the PS3 version...

Edit: 250k for Forza is solid, Ratchet should be better than 100k though. That game deserves to be around 250-300k. Still though Im sure it'll do better when the marketing starts picking up.

Also WOW @ Borderlands, I thought that was going to flop in sales. I myself would buy the game cause it looks awesome, but my hands are already tied with too many games.

Good news for Sony, since the price cut and a slight marketing push they've been on a roll. Not surprised with Tekken though, sadly the game just hasnt seemed to have progressed.

Just a note though, had it been the other way around and the headline had been changed to reflect that something tells me it wouldnt of been approved in that state.

The same thing was said about Halo 3:ODST. Then, when Xbox 360 posted big September hardware numbers, it was clear that Halo 3:ODST was a system seller. MW2 will move a lot of 360's even though it is multi-platform.

EDIT @ below - September sales increased over 60% from the previous month, despite the supposedly more popular Arcade model remaining unchanged at $199. Besides, it wasn't really a price drop. MS went from $199/$299/$399 to $199/$299. The $299 Elite is the same as the $299 Pro was, just with a bigger hard drive. There is no way to know exactly how many consoles Halo was responsible for selling, but the sales increase and the timing of Halo's release would have to be an amazing coincidence to believe that Halo wasn't a system seller.

Back on topic: If MW2 isn't expected to be a system seller, why would MS and Activision team up to produce a 360 MW2 bundle? Clearly, they expect it to sell hardware.

EDIT @ below - Numbers supporting those games being system sellers are far less compelling than numbers supporting Halo.

Also, the MW2 bundle has little additional value to a gamer who doesn't care about MW2. Someone who doesn't want MW2 is going to buy the $299 model, and use the extra money they save to buy a game that they really want.

Really? So how many console did ODST supposedly move or was the spike(if that's what you wanna call it) from all the price cutting that was going on?

Edit: So since we use coincidence as a gauge, would I be crazy to call U2 a system seller or how about Demon Souls?

MW2 bundle was done so people buying a 360 regardless of how much they want MW2, can see at least a little value in a 360. What person buying a console would pass up a system with a free game. Oh, and an extra controller.

@below: Yeah because talking about something just oozes so much care right?

Edit@ above: A free game is a free game. When I got my genesis, I had no clue what a Sonic or a Hedgehog was, but a game I could play as soon as I hooked up my console was a value I could appreciate even as a child. And as far as "those" games go, sales went up so I can say it was attributed to whatever I feel, cause it couldn't just be coincidence, right.

EDIT @ nolifeking - I remember the Genesis as well. Sonic was included with ALL consoles (after Sonic was released - before that, it was Altered Beast). In the case of the 360, there are different choices for different prices. I'll bubble you up for bringing up the Genesis, though - it's always been my favorite console.
