Damn, I've never seen so many cases of severe fanboyism is one place. All these people bashing MW2 and I'm pretty sure 99.9% of them haven't even played the game yet. Saying things like "It's the exact same game, with out of date graphics, and more noob friendly controls, oh and don't forget it's a lagfest," for f*cks sake give it a rest. If you don't like the game then don't play it. I can understand being pissed of with IW/Actiblizz, but all this hate on a game that hasn't been released yet is ridiculous. You guys, or should I say person with multiple accounts, need to give it a rest already and grow up.

I've had this pre-ordered for a while. I got an email yesterday saying that my copy has been despatched. I'm now sitting here waiting to see if it turns up today (I expect tomorrow but ya never know). If it does come today it'll probably be while I'm at work and if I have to sign for it that'll be annoying coz it'll mean I'll have to drive to the parcel force offices to go get it when I come home. That will p1ss me off. Why am I bothering to type this? Well, because I'm showing that I REALLY want this game. And most of you probably know I favour the PS3. Infact I've ordered the PS3 version because my live has been reverted to silver and I'm sick of paying for gold. It isn't worth it. I have CoD4 on the 360 though, so I'll be one of those people that are "defecting" as that article said yesterday. I'll be doing the same with AC2. But yeah I really am getting fed up with all the hate on this. Shut up already, FFS. We know all the 360 has is multiplats but will all the fanboys stop hating on them like they aren't getting to play them. It's on both consoles so stop screaming uncharted 2 BLLJAHSGDFEGURJER! Yes, Uncharted 2 is probably a better game. So? CoD4 is better than W@W, I still enjoyed W@W for a bit. Then I went back to CoD4. Same as I will enjoy MW2 then probably go back to UC2. If I enjoy it; it's worth it. So please. Enough. Thanks.

I just ordered my PS3-copy of this game!

Last week I bought Uncharted2 and it is the best game I have ever played! I love Killzone2! I love all exclusives the PS3 has and I love all the good multi-platform games out there!

So WTF? Just be a gamer! I love my PS3 and I will love CoD MW2 too!!!!!!! (just like I liked CoD4)

So one copy is sold to me. (what I really don't like is the high price of the even "normal" version)

I wonder if journalists should be honest with themselves and give out proper scores to games. It seems as that they only become neutral when the condition is right and give out ridiculous bias to be fair, without realizing that this can potentially hurt their readership.

It's almost as if they've become as biased and opinionated as those "gaming" blog sites, and is very lacking of professionalism. I would say they're slowly becoming less commendable and credible, and it's truly a shame this is how gaming journalism is becoming.

How is UC2 that much more innovative.

Everything from UC2 is exactly the same as UC2 if not worse, except for the graphics and multiplayer.

The story was just plain better in UC1. It was more entertaining, and it made me fall in love with the franchise. But to call the story in UC2 better than in UC1 is like telling me the story was better in Transformers 2 than it was in Transformers 1.

Even the multiplayer offers absolutely nothing new to gaming. It steals the replay system from Halo 3 and the tacked on "booster" option from the COD games.

Even if you don't think MW2 will be innovative, it will still be played a countless number oh hours more than UC2. That's why it should strongly be considered for GOTY.

quite the opposite...both are slightly above average games (with nonsensical amount of hype) that steals too much attention away from more deserving games that have innovated and raised the bar. Think about it,they are both FPSes - the SAFEST (and arguably the easiest to make) genre, they don't even stand out much from the competition. Having mass appeal isn't everything.

If anything, i feel they are the worst thing to happen to the industry and they are responsible for the nothing-but-FPS feeling you get when you visit the game stores nowadays.

Clearly the multiplayer aspect is the only main selling point yet it received 9.5! I'm sure the story will be fine ( but short ) as well as the graphics and gameplay too, but if you compare this and uncharted 2 ( i know they a different ) you'll see why this is just dumb. I don't normally speculate however i very much doubt MW2 received 9.5 for presentation, 10 for graphics, 9.5 for sound, 9.5 for gameplay ( possible ). MW2 could receive 9.5 for lasting appeal but only due to the online multiplayer which COULD be ruined by lag . Somehow no game should get 10/10 however it is ok to give every game 9.5 if we liked the first one, except uncharted 2 as that did actually deserve a high score for setting a new standard.

To me KZ2 is still king of the FPS. (still play it daily)

GG went all out and tried to innovate on many different levels and deliver a quality title that was different than other FPS games. It didn't have co-op and the press urinated on it because of that. But what KZ2 did do (Incredible enemy AI, immersive environments, addicting MP, great storytelling, innovative cover system) were not taken for what they were and was just treated as a meh title by the gaming press.

Now we have MW2, sequel to the biggest gaming fad currently. Which in a lot of ways did not improve upon CoD4 and will be seen as the best thing since sliced bread as far as FPS titles go.

I know it's the fad and skilled gamers along with no0bs are waiting for it like fiends, but the gaming press has to show some consistency which they clearly don't do.

I truly am very surprised and disappointed at the reactions people are having to this thread.

No one is attacking MW2 and saying it will NOT be a good game. We all know it WILL be great because it was destined to be, they cant fudge that game up considering most of it is copy/paste.

The problem is with the REVIEW system that current big name game magazines are using and brutally murdering the concept of game reviews in the first place.

The reason this review score would turn heads and annoy a great number of people is because of the whole KZ2 fiasco.

The game was given a lower score than it deserved (opinion), but it was deducted points for silly reasons like innovation (even though KZ2 did some amazing things.)

The point of the matter is, the gaming media has exploded on the internet to the point where it's not even taken seriously anymore by real gamers.

The frustrating part of it all is that the avg consumer has no clue what goes on behind the curtains, they see a review, and they buy the game, or they shun it. Which is terrible if someone is partial to "Edge" or something along those lines, you'll miss out on many games.

What everyone wants to see is a review system that WORKS, which will never happen in this generation of gaming.

I'm not saying MS is hand delivering xboxes and bonuses and candy to reviewers even though it's KNOWN they've done it in the past, obviously this is multiplat and has nothing to do with MS. i'm just talking about the fact that if this game is given perfect scores across the board like GTA4, ill be left with a bad taste in my mouth, because i can easily say GTA4 was the most overrated experience ever, i still to this day have not beaten it, because it has no substance...

BOTTOM LINE (dont usually write so much)

Reviews dont mean anything to the REAL gamer.

Let the sheep worry about that.

that should matter is your own. (Likewise with GOTY) That is why we have demos, the fine folks at the Bitbag and Gametrailers. I only use IGN for its walkthroughs.

Why must everyone, including devs, need to be so reliant of ratings and metacritic scores?

I have both 360 and Ps3. I am in no way a fanboy and only want the very best with respects to gaming. I have been a gamer since Pong. Had an intellevision, atari 2600, all the way up to now with the 360, ps3 and wii.

I can honestly say that I am completely blown away with the PS3 exclusives. I have been playing UC2 for a few weeks now off and on and I cant believe that the PS3 has achieved this. It seems like it should be a game that would come out next gen but the ps3 is capable if this now. I am amazed!

My point is this. I have played all of the COD series and still play MW1 and a few others. I do not in the least see this game at the same overall level as UC2. To give this game a 9.5 and UC2 a 9.5 shows one thing:

IGN is afraid of losing advertisement dollars if they are honest with their reviews....

I mean seriously. UC2 is like playing a movie. The music alone makes any 360 game look like an XBOX game.... For MW2 to be multiplatform, it means they will have to compress the hell out of the music and fit the game on a 360 disk....

Therefore, I dont read anymore IGN reviews as they are bias towards the 360....
