This sounds like a good idea for Sony if MS alreally dealing with MW2, dealing with Ubisoft on AC2 could help Sony get more people on there console if you think about it.

What is the real point in both deals?.

To get more people to buy the game on the said system or to get people to buy the consoles for the games?. The way i see both MWF2 and AC2 are not really system sellers. Not that much anymore. They will sell alot of copies but i doubt they will sell that many more consoles.

I was hesitant to buy this game due to the fact that I didn't like Assassins Creed that much after about the first hour of playing it. It seems like they fixed alot of things for the sequel though. Really thinking about picking it up now...for 360 though. I only buy exclusives for PS3.

Na I wasn't aware. I will def look into that then. I'm just so used to buying multi plats on 360 because i've had a 360 for alot longer than i've had my PS3 and it seems like the 360 versions are usually the lead consoles for multi plats while PS3 gets screwed most of the time. My 360 has been collecting a little dust since PS3 entered my home though lol. I think if it wasn't for Alan Wake coming out next year I could do without it.

I think I've seen the commercial. It shows clips of a bunch of random PS3 games (mostly exclusive) and it shows parts of AC2. It involves a guy asking what the PS3 has... and results in that lol.

Well I think the PS3 should get the AC series back to exclusive. I wish it would. Could be so much better.

good for sony. but people are more excited for mw2 than ac2 ..ps3 and 360 fans.....pre-order numbers prove it. at least sony is advertising....

but cod 360 is gonna spank the sh!t out of the ps3 version. the MW2 360 is going to sell microsoft so many consoles. my gamestop is releativly small and we have 35 360 reserved. i bet some stores have over 100 not including online sales

Yesterday I had gone to a exclsusive ubisoft event in sydney and got to try out AC2 was part of the black beta contest on IGN and let me tell you it was running all on PS3's Bravia Tv's and hte posters they had were only promoting the PS3 and PSP version of AC so I am guessing there marketing campaign has already started.

than Modern Warfare 2.

the Playstation fanbase have always been very responsive to RPGs and Action/Adventure games.

while this generation has considerably grown the FPS genre on the Playstation brand, the RPG and Action/Adventure genres have done even better.

i enjoyed the first Assassin's Creed, despite the repetitive gameplay, because i thought it was very immersive, and i really liked the combat mechanic (it felt more like a dance, than straight up button mashing, where a good defense and countering was key to victory).

i'm looking forward to AC2, but sadly, i can't afford it this year. i have one more purchase in me this year, and that's God of War Collection, and i can BARELY afford that.

so far, my purchases (disc based) for 2009 have been:

Killzone 2
Resident Evil 5
inFAMOUS
Prototype
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Ghostbusters
White Knight Chronicles (Japanese import)
Demon's Souls (Chinese import)
Uncharted 2
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Dragon Age: Origins

that's over $720, and i have a wife, rent, and other bills to take care of. the fact i was able to pick those games up REALLY stretched my gaming budget.

next year isn't looking any better, actually.

The PS3 version of the original Assassin's Creed received the same treatment. The title does seem to appeal more to the Playstation crowd than Xbox. Like someone mentioned earlier, MW2 and Assassin's Creed both got exclusive advertisement deals for PS3 and 360, and the preorder numbers pretty much agreed with them. PS3 owners tend to gravitate to single player experiences more.

Well I guess if MS is doing MW2 than Sony has to jump in it as well with AC2. Sorry though Sony, I will continue buying all my muliplats on the 360 due to preference. Uncharted 2 is the last PS3 game for me this year.. maybe Demon Souls since The Band1t keeps talking it up and he seems to be a good judge of games.

Great idea Sony.I notice Microsoft been doing this for a while for mutiplat games a uneducated gamer see 360 at the end of a ad and thinks its a 360 exclusive just like with MW2 and its new ad on tv.

Add this game to my X360 collection along with..
Borderlands, Brutal Legends, MW2, and Dragon Age for my Fall games.

Batman: AA will be my lone Multiplat exclusive on PS3 this year.

It is just my choice as the X360 is my go to system for most multiplatform games.

I still have mad love for my PS3 with KZ2, inFamous, Uncharted 2, MLB09, and Demon's Souls this year.

It makes a lot of sense due to the psp/ps3 factor

even if sony put money to advertise modern warfare 2 it probably would have sold more on the 360.

but they really need the psp/ps3 connection to take off and hope that more developers will follow suit

All I can say is good for sony,

and good for AC... at least it seems to be getting some love again.

I don't mean this to bash, but not too long ago there were loads of comments about how crap and overrated AC1 was. I mean the game did have issues yes so I can understand why people would knock it, but personally I thought some people were going a bit overboard with it.

I think I must be one of the few people that thought AC1 was good.
it was repetitive yes, and the story could have been told better yes, but I always thought AC was one of the best looking sand box games this gen and had great animation, game play features and the overall concept of the story was interesting.

At least now people are recognizing the work Ubi has done to correct some of the short comings of the first game. It always struck me that AC would have worked well with a few RPG'ish elements and it sounds like they have added a little of that with this game.

one of the reasons I love sony ( oh yes, supprise... i really do ) they put a lot of faith in dev's and seem a lot more willing to support games when there is high risk of it swinging either way.

I mean AC1 was a commercial success, but once people had actually bought the game and played it, then all the negative feedback started coming in and based off that and the fact that people didn't like it, not to mention It would be going up against MW2 as well as other big titles this holiday like Uncharted 2, you can see it being a bit of a gamble. Still from what Ubi have shown I think they have given most people reason to believe the game is way better then the first, so good on sony for supporting them.

I'm still playing through uncharted on hard. Then i'll play through on crushing.

I will take a look at MW2, But i do like the look of BC2, Vehicles etc.

I will not buy AC2 just because I saw the add from Sony, I will buy it because I own a PS3!!!!!!! (as well as MW2)
