Wow, Sony, you usually floor me with your top notch commercials and ads, but this one takes the cake. It seemed so low budget, lmao. Anyway, i can't wait until next year =D. I'm saving up 1500 for a 42 inch 240hz bravia =D!!!

1.5 - It's funny.........
...that people are trippin about the glasses.

How are you going to complain about something that enhances the overall experience of entertainment?

It's just funny and stupid how people whine about little sh!t.

It pisses me off.

1.6 - nothing new
Do people have short term memory loss on this site. This isn't new. Maybe the tv but not the 3d functionality coming to ps3.

It is coming to 360 as well. I can't recall the exact name but they have been working on the software to make any ps3 and 360 with hdmi work with tv's that support 3d for both movies (any movie) and games.

My samsung plasma is a 400 series and supports the 3d glasses. It cost a little extra but when this starts becoming more mainstream then I will pick them up.

1.7 - if there's any other way to enjoy 3D without the glasses, I'm all for it!
I've been watching several 3D movies and honestly I feel a little dizzy watching them! it's like a stress to the eyes and brain! maybe it's just me but still the 3D experience is awesome!

I got an answer, PlayStation Eye's head tracking gives an illusion that everything is in 3D.

3D gaming would be awesome. If that is somehow supported for most of the games (if you have a 3D display) that could take off. I'm actually happy about the glasses. That doesn't make other not playing dizzy while watching...

Although I do have to admit, the commercial is VERY cheesy. However, to appeal to average joe and average jane, sometimes you have to be.

Yeah, Frosty, it did seem sort of cheesy didn't it? I sort of thought it was a joke at first.

Still, it'll be very cool to get some 3d gaming in the house.

Well, some of the most successful commercials ever have been downright cheesy, so it's not all bad.

This is not a commercial nor an AD, it's just a video that was attached to the press release after the announcement of a 3D BRAVIA in IFA 2009

i usually hate to conform but i have to admit that "cheesy" is the best way to describe that commercial. But i'm getting a Mitsubishi DLP WD75735 which is a "73" DLP television capable of full 1080p and 3d ready. It's going to be so freaking sweet.

Nice!!

If I would have known about 3D TV's like 8 months ago, I wouldn't have ever bought my 47' 1080p LG Plasma.

The Only reason I bought it was because it had a big sticker on it that said 640Hz.

Anyone know if HDTV's claiming 640Hz are capable of handling 3D?

nordberg - 96 days 12 hours ago
3.2 - Re: wUTTer
You only need 120Hz to handling 3D...but unfortunately your TV have probably an input of just 60hz like most TV (even if your display was 640hz).

Presently, only DLP TV have an input which can handle 120hz

You can see compatible TV at nvidia website:

at least 200hz to get the full 3D effect.

But I'm not sure....

Seriously man how are you going to see 3D without the glasses?

So we have to wear glasses while we're watching a film in the front room now. Wow, wicked. Won't that be a treat.

What's wrong with the glasses ? It works quite well and the thing is, if you don't wear them you get a normal picture (at least I guess so - not distorted like this old tech).

It's a nice ad, but it sounds like one of those corny 90's commercial where they brag about 3D in video games (N64, PS1, Sega Saturn era). The guy in the commercial sounds like he was kidnapped from the 90's, lol.

9 - Spend Spend Spend With Sony.
I just bought a Bravia with my move to the PS3 to experience High Def. Now I will have to buy another TV to get 3D, however in that time I'll be buying all the great games coming for the PS3. I'll be broke by the end of 2010. Give me some time to breathe Sony.

Sony confirmed that you can use your regular HD or SD TV sets with a pair of 3D glasses to get the full experience. No need to buy a 3D "capable" monitor or TV.

Well, until you can afford a 3DTV that has a lens on each pixel that projects video from 9 different angles out of each pixel, glasses are as good as it gets. I personally don't see what the fuss about glasses is. It's no different than wearing a pair of sunglasses... and it's not like you're trying to look good while sitting on your fat ass watching TV in your living room.

And the 3D glasses I've seen used in the past worked just fine for people wearing glasses, they fit nicely over their glasses.

This commercial was pretty corny, lol. I'm just glad Sony has confirmed I won't have to buy those new 3D television sets to be able to experience the 3D in movies and games. I just hope my eyes won't start hurting like when they did while watching Final Destination in 3D >_>

Aside from the cheesie presentation, i'd rathe rsony didn't lead the way in a tech front as they'll just go proprietary again and fragment the market.

Sigh.

sad thing is, every time they have fragmented the market, it has been with a superior product. In the case of beta, it didn't work out in the end. luckily blu-ray won out this time though.

Fixed.

And it's sony... their bravia takes any hdmi video game and converts it to 3d. still not as good as 3d rendered in-system like ps3 is getting though.

it has a option to turn off 3D movies/gaming b/c sometimes i get headaches watchin 3D movies..lol

Sounds like an awesome idea though...just hope theres an on and off switch to it based on preference. I'd be turned off if they force me to buy two separate movies/games that is like 1 non-3D and another thats 3D
