Sledgehammer's Glen Schofield thinks Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the best game they ever made, and praised the team for refining the game a lot in the last few weeks.
Three executives are leaving The Callisto Protocol developer Striking Distance Studios following the game's commercial underperformance, including studio co-founder and Dead Space veteran Glen Schofield.
I didn't mind The Callisto Protocol but the DLC really soured me, made everything feel pointless
Also these types of articles...why are we allowing articles where you need to pay to read the entire thing on here.
Loved Callisto Protocol alot though it did walk a little too closely in Dead Space's shadow. Would be great to see them seperate more in a sequel.
Schofield’s gone, among others? How long before they shutter? I platinumed it, wasn’t the worst game.
The Callisto Protocol Final Transmission Interview - MP1st talks to Striking Distance Studios' boss Glen Schofield.
Striking Distance boss Glen Schofield says they made a "few bold choices: in the story for The Callisto Protocol's Final Transmission DLC, and also mentioned how they took player feedback to heart.
Yeeeeah, they surely didn't «took player feedback to heart».
TL;DR: It's not worth the asking price.
[!!! spoiler alert !!!]
It's still a super short DLC, around 1.5h if you're prepared and around 2h if not. If you're rushing things, you can get to the end in 1h 15m or even less. So they ignored the game length complains.
All the puzzles in this DLC are align the nodes and go out and get the fuses. Then go out and get some more. So they didn't care about lack of interesting puzzles.
They only had 2 new enemies - biobots and the boss. So minor improvements with the lack of enemy types.
Story was just a mess and ending is beyond dumb.
Remember those last moments in the original game? The mutated Ferris face? And "There might be a way out"? Well, forget about it. None of that have happened, apparently. There was an explosion and Jacob is mostly dead. Doctor hooks him up to a life support and uses his CORE device to send all the data to Dani.
How does that work? No idea.
Why does Dani actually need those documents? Dunno. She is a known terrorist, after all, no one would believe her. And she has a biophage, so a rough landing and another protocol is happening.
Want to know what've happened to Ferris (why we saw his face at the end)? No answer.
To warden Duncan? No answer.
Who are the people with golden masks from Squid Game or where are they? No answer.
Why Jacob wasn't infected, even though he had his face exposed for 99.99% of the game? No answer.
The only thing they tried to explain is the dr. Mahler and what she was doing, the biobots. And even that explanation didn't make any sense - how does biophage controls the bots? Does it know programming and/or biophage is a hacker? Why did she need that at all? In original game, warned and his friends in masks wanted to mutate humans to the next stage of evolution, to send them to super rough conditions to colonize. But bots are dumb, they can't do any of that without a person controlling them. And with biophage attached, they don't listen to anyone any way. So why?

I know they're working hard, but I just really can't get excited by new Call of Duty games, even when they try something new...
I don't know how I feel about the exo's to be honest. I always thought cod was good because it was a basic military shooter. I am happy they are trying something new but I feel it might turn on them. A lot of competitive eSports/MLG players have stated they do not like the exo suits in the game and that they might be taken out of competitive play, that is very concerning.
I do feel as there will be a huge skill gap in this game compared to other Cods however. You will see players who are very good than a lot that are very bad. Another problem I see is that you will see a lot of rooftop camping instead of fighting on the ground in Deathmatch type game modes.
My other concern is the exo abilities (shild, stim, etc..) I think they might be very overpowered when used correctly. Also I don't like that each gun has something special about it (extra damage in first couple rounds, etc..) I think they should just have the gun stats and not add extra perks to the guns, because it will make one or two guns vastly superior to all the others, like we saw in Cod Ghosts (Remmington R5 and Vector).
I am willing to give the game a shot but I have no expectations with this game at all because I am basically done with Cod, if this idea of change doesn't workout the series is completely doomed
Let's hope this is more than just the usual hype, I need a new shooter!
Yea, okay. Best game, my ass. I didn't even like TLOU, but it was leaps and bounds above any other COD game that has released. Call of Duty is a cash cow formula, and the only reason it's making such new changes are because of the several solid FPS games that have released or are releasing soon.
Don't get me wrong. If you love COD, fine, I'm happy people enjoy it. But come on,...
I grew up on quake and unreal tournament so this cod is right up my alley. I just hope its well balanced
