The game doesn't seem appealing to me.

I like the premise and potential it has, but when I look at the visual side of the game, it's just a mess. I think the characters are much too 'true to their original form' that they conflict with eachother. They don't belong in the same universe, so to speak.

Sony should take a look at that Disney Infinite game, and use that as an example about how to take very different characters from very different 'worlds', and coming up with a design/style where they all DO somehow seem to fit together. Suddenly, Captain Jack Sparrow DOES look like he belongs next to Mr. Incredible.

So Sony needs to go back into this game and come up with a visual style where all these characters will no longer 'conflict'.

.... and some less boring backgrounds would help a lot too.

Damn shame we prolly won't though, this games insanely fun. I still play to this day weekly tourny I'm my areas and casually. Def after smash hype dies down in about a year or two. Would be super nice if a bit more care and time went into this game.

I don't think a Smash style game is best for PlayStation. Although I enjoyed it, I think a better game would be an ARPG in the style of Kingdom Hearts featuring characters from the PlayStation cast and 3rd parties.

A smash type game mode would be a great side part of that game, but a huge ARPG would be much better.

I think the opposite, it should have come right alongside smash so it'll get free publicity from hundreds of internet articles comparing the two, and get extra sell from hundreds of fanboys wanting it to outsell smash

Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, Conker, Banjo Kazooie,
Splosion Man, Castle Crashers Character(s), Frank West, Kaim, Jade, Raz (Psychonauts), Agent(Crackdown), Shu, Joanna Dark, and throw in an avatar. Im pretty sure they have enough characters to make an Xbox All-Stars

Even though Microsoft bought Rare, I'll always associate Perfect Dark and Banjo Kazooie with N64 since that was their original console.

Other options off the top of my head:
Kameo, The arbiter (halo), someone from the Fable series, Jason Fleming (from Shadow Complex), someone from left for dead (maybe a zombie type), Somone/something from Prey, Super Meat Boy,

That's a good list and all, but I think most of those are non-exclusive and single-hit..While as with Smash Bro's and PS All stars... the characters have made a mark on the brands...

I think the roster is ok but the lack of handicap/health killed the whole game for me because there was no strategy or skills, just spam buttons and gather bubbles.

It killed the game for me....the only way to kill your opponent is to use supers, I mean it just seemed it was done to separate it's self from Smash Bros.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts in a short and collective manner. However, I must disagree with your aim for the sequel to this IP (a spin off or different game with PS icons/idols, perhaps).

I liked the original games systems+mechanics and I'm able to express my rudimentary fighting game skills all while being competent against others in even the most highest skilled competitive environments.

As far as tastes go, to each their own.

Release it whenever. Just make it by a good groups of devs and designers.. and don't cut them shortly after (like the first). There's such a thing as balance patches!

This game had so much potential.. but Sony and SuperBot screwed everything from having a really bad roster, to the balancing of the characters and online play.

First, the roster is a shame. This game was suposed to be a fighting game between Sony greatest characters. So.. Zeus, really? Wow, having Zeus instead of Gabriel Logan, that's the way to do it!(joke)

Second, I remember the game director promised a lag-free online multiplayer. I played the game yesterday, and it's plagued with lag and bugs. Sony support to this game is a BS.

So, even with these unacceptable problems, I liked the game and want a sequel. But this time, doing it the right way.

They should announce the sequel now. Super Smash Bros is out in October and we'll need a substitute to sell around that hype.

They should but they need to make sure to have more iconic characters. Character roster should be at least 30-40 not like the first one with only 20-22. They should also change the gameplay style that way it'll stand out and people will not perceive it as just a Smash Bros. clone.

They could really do a better take and join with Sega and do a Playstation versus Sega Allstars battle...but make it like powerstone.

Do it before Nintendo does it.
