I quit the game. They are adding more grinding content instead of actual enjoyable progressive content.

what is "actual enjoyable progressive content" to you?

paradigmfellow3531d ago (Edited 3531d ago )

A series of non-grinding quests (similar to relic) that actually kept you stimulated and immersed you with the lore. I enjoyed Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard). However, Atma, Myth, Alexandrite, spirit bonding, and hunts grinding is not fun and it completely ruined the game for me.

I started to get burned out with atma farming, it became worse with myth grinding. When I finished my animus I felt disillusioned and I realized that patch 2.2 had very little new things to add to the game. I decided to continue with the game because I did enjoy coil and Levi ex fights. However, once they added the Novus I began to hate the game. The PF virtually disappeared, and I started to focus on crafting to get money for materia. Then I realized how much I hated crafting and gathering. I decided to give up on the Novus weapon because I hated wasting time on the market board, crafting, gathering, and spirit bonding for random, sometimes worthless, materia. I then began to log in less and less. Then I only logged in for coils.

When 2.3 came out I was excited, I was looking forward to the new CT (ST) and Ramuh Ex fights. I enjoyed the first round of CT (2.1), even with the constant trollings. However, I noticed that the PF was not being used for ST parties and instead were all focused on hunts. I open the quest and I tried to do some of them. I joined several parties and I virtually got nothing. After several days I realized that I no longer enjoyed the game, I hated it. It also didn't help that every time we did coil, we would mostly get tank and healing gear. We had about 4 casting drops since the start of 2.2. I told my coil static that I was quitting the game, but I would help them out until they find a replacement. My subscription ended on August 16.

they keep adding content like story progression . You're quite unfair .

And high end difficult stuff can usually only be a grind , disguised or otherwise

paradigmfellow3531d ago (Edited 3531d ago )

Atma, Myth, Alexandrite, spirit bonding, and hunts grinding is not fun. Unfortunately this is what a lot of people have focused on. I remember a time when I could use party finder for a lot of things. However, all I found by the time I quit the game were hunt parties and nothing else.

I can't respond anymore. I ran out of bubbles.

All of that is the mandatory high end grind what else are you going to add , besides more raids and what they currently already add ? You forgot to list the new Primals , The gentleman quests , other story quests and content from 2.1 , 2.2 , 2.3 and other patches .

I get what you are saying , but it's the nature and problem every mmo game encounter soon enough . High level regular players , burn through regular content too fast , and all is left is to throw tedious grinding bones at them .

I tire of the grind too , and gave up atma for drops since i was lucky , but it also starts a craft or loot grind too of course . Wich is why i now play less and less , and just await content each time , and restart with other classes i'm interested into ... until the expansion

Speak for yourself. Im having a blast with this game. We need more grinds in it. Its too easy to get to 50. Im working on my Novus atm.36/75..materia is sooo expensive. ; ;

I was for my summoner, but wanted to do scholar and no way am I gonna grind at a for that too. Hunts r a great alternative...but trying to play some diablo and destiny...and really don't feel like grinding everyday for months.

Baka-akaB3531d ago (Edited 3531d ago )

The game doesnt need more low level grind . And no it's not too easy to get a 50 . Getting there is only the end of phase one

Lou Ferrigno3531d ago

yea the grinding in this game is fun imo, especially with others , weather it be FC or just your own party..

i've been grinding for months but i still have a blast and can't wait for the next update this fall and introduce the Ninja class.

this game has so much content and most of it, if not all of it, is high quality..
i think they will eventually release "progressive" content, but imo the grinding, item lvl's , cross classes, jobs etc etc.. is all a part of progressing. :)

I’m Glad Atlus & SE Changed Dates To Avoid Competing With Shadow Of The Erdtree

Saad from eXputer: "I'm glad I don't have to choose between Square Enix, Atlus, and FromSoftware due to bad release windows and Shadow of the Erdtree."

More intelligent than guerilla games

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.

HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.

It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.
