Really torn over this game. I really want the PC version for the graphics but I also really want the PS4 version for the trophies. Cant afford both.

FalloutWanderer20773532d ago

To each their own. Me? PC all the way. I wouldn't give it a second thought. If trophies mean that much to you then get it on the PS4. However, if you have a gaming PC that will potentially do Witcher 3 justice, there is absolutely no reason to get it on any other platform but PC.

If not for the better performance & visuals then at least for the mods that will eventually come out after release. Oh, there is a very good chance TW3 will have achievements through gog galaxy and steam as well. win/win situation if I ever saw one.

Meltic3532d ago (Edited 3532d ago )

Lol the ps4 version is almost the same as PC. Same experience but the PC has a Little more better Graphics. Ps4 is like high settings and PC is Ultra. The only thing better in PC is the mods that will come later.

bloodybutcher3531d ago

I cannot choose, for I own only a ps4. However, in your case, you should go for a pc version without any doubt.

lazyboyblue3531d ago

Im leaning more toward ps4 version. I have a gtx 770 machine so I doubt I'll see ultra setting and ps4 is said to be high setting equivalent anyway.

FalloutWanderer20773530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

I have a GTX 770 as well and I'm hoping it fairs well. I'd think if the consoles are pushing PC high then at the very least a gtx 770 should be doing the same @ 60fps with maybe a few toggles set higher.

A good CPU & GTX 770 Combined with at least 8gb ram is vastly superior to what the consoles can do on paper.I presently have a i5-4670k with a modest OC @ 4.0ghz

I'm waiting for pricing & performance of the GTX 880 and if it exceeds the 780 ti AND the price is better or close to the same, I may just sell my 770 for one of those or I will keep the 770 as a dedicated physX card.

My easiest option would be buying my little brothers 660 at a really good price for dedicated physX for an extra boost in performance until I can upgrade my card. It might not give me miracles but it will certainly help with the hardware physX that Witcher 3 will have. I'm primarily upgrading for TW3 only.

MP games need micros to keep the lights on. Path of Exile is a good game with micros. It can be done as long is the game is not the scheme itself.

CrimsonWing6924d ago (Edited 24d ago )

You end up paying more than $70 in micros for a game specifically designed around them and that’s not a “scheme” by design?

I’ve played plenty of great MP games that didn’t have micros. I love how at one point we were like micros bad, GaaS bad, and now we’re like, well GaaS is MP so it’s ok.

anast24d ago (Edited 24d ago )

Path is a free game. How else are they supposed to keep the servers on? You don't need up spending more . I've been playing the game since the beginning and I've spent less than $20.

Destiny on the other hand....

An MP game embedded in a SP game shouldn't have them.

I know you understand this. I have to be optimistic here.

CrimsonWing6923d ago

@anast

I’d argue “free to play” are more egregious than just a traditional pay to play game. You end up spending far more on a game than just $70 and I think the “free” games are sneaky by design to make a consumer think “well, it’s free, let me dump money into it.” I mean, they’re specifically designed to make you continuously put money into them. I heard with Path of Exile you hit a point where the grind is obnoxious without buying micros.

lucian22924d ago

Odd, I remember micro transactions for Witcher 3

CrimsonWing6923d ago

What micro-transactions do you remember being in Witcher 3?

FinalFantasyFanatic24d ago

I agree, I never pay for microtransactions, and in the few cases where I have, I've felt dirty afterwards, especially when older games used to give you so much content for free (like cosmetics).

Though this news in a way should be good new trilogy making cash taking a break from cyberpunk and all that i would like to reminded everyone that the new cdpr is pro esg. There focus going forward is to make games for everyone so the next witcher will have less everything watch the swearing/blood be political the main character might just be a woman that is trans lesbian perhaps likes dogs who knows.

see video cfo cdpr there new esg vision
https://www.youtube.com/wat...

I am a witcher fan enjoyed cyberpunk but i know the old devs are all gone the people that made red engine are all gone so this is a new team with a new visions under the esg the same esg that looks at a company like sweet baby as visionaries.

So take this news with a grain of salt as the chance of witcher 3 magic again is very low seeing how starfield removed gore to appease the masses and we are gun ho with live service. We will see what this looks like but keep your expectations low.

I mean remember how netflix wither is being handled though yes more on that teams side than cdpr but yikes.

I will leave rebel wolves site they are made up from former cdpr devs
https://rebel-wolves.com/

Though still hush hush on there new rpg.

Zeref27d ago

Not sure what's bad about esg. But you mentioned Sweet Baby Inc. So I'm gonna say you're one of those

AdonisIsBeast26d ago

Lol you must be very sheltered to not pay attention to what esg is doing to the United States

TheColbertinator26d ago

Definitely one of those. I would laugh if they weren't so pathetic.

just_looken26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

Esg/blackrock are the behind the scenes companies like the old mgs games were the say our leaders are puppets.

esg promo vid
https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Instead of making a game a game they make it to the esg stranded or how i call it the clipboard effect.

Here is a good fyi video about esg and disney

I honestly think Cyberpunk is one of the best games I’ve played this gen. The immersion is still better than any game I’ve played in the past several years. Really glad this did well, but we all know CDPR better not bull sh*t people with fake trailer and gameplay previews or try to hide a dumpster fire last-gen version of a game.

just_looken26d ago

They made more than 2 game series by the way there pokemon go clone failed and gwent is basically dead so in a way they already have.

And now they are pro esg
