Dying Light Will Be the Game Dead Island Fans Want

Hardcore Gamer: Both games are slated for an early 2015 release, so the comparisons are inevitable. My prediction: Dying Light will be better than Dead Island 2 in every conceivable way. Let's compare the first looks and examine a few of the areas in which Dying Light already has the edge.

What does that make Dead Island 2 then?
Here is my opinion. Both games will be enjoyable those who choose to buy them. Perhaps not everyone, but quite a lot of them will have fun with the games.

Dead Island not on and Island MMO?

HanzoHattori3532d ago

I've been anxiously awaiting this game since February of this year. I will be extremely disappointed if it turns out like Watch Dogs, a repetitive, bunch of nothing.

Yes, Like you I am stoked for this game, it looks awesome and from what I hear, plays awesome too. Saying that, I'm really looking forward to Dead Island 2 as well.

Not too long to go now.

including all the glitches as a bonus

I loved the first two Dead Island games. I am sure I will like this as well as Dead Island 2 just as well.

For fans of this type of game we're lucky to be getting 3 of them. Dying Light, Dead Island 2, and Hellraid.

Rock-Lee3532d ago

Nahhh Dying Light will be the game I do NOT want. Dead Island was awesome, but became repetitive and was filled with bugs. Dying Light uses a newer version of the same engine, by the same developers. If anything this means Dying Light will be just like Dead Island: repetitive, inspirationless and filled with bugs.

Dead Island 2 is the game Dead Island fans want! 8 player online co-op, Unreal Engine 4, completely different weapons and mechanics.

If you want the same experience as Dead Island: go with Dying Light.
If you want a better, bigger and more basass Dead Island: go with Dead Island 2

Just an opinion of a 'Dead Island fan'.

Im not sure yet, Dead island 2 seems more of a first person Dead Rising to me; silly mass zombie slaying

Whereas Dying Light seems to have a more serious/horror survivor tone to it, which I kind of prefer

salmon_slapped3532d ago

If you want a survival horror/zombie slaughter game: go with Dying Light.

If you want a First person zombie slaughter game go with Dead Island 2.

Another opinion of a Dead Island fan.

Rock-Lee3532d ago (Edited 3532d ago )

That makes no sense.... Dying Light is also first person.... And Dead Island 2 is also as much survival as Dying Light (you need to find items in order to survive). Also neither of them are really about survival. Dead Island 1 was just a zombie slaughter game, Dying Light is a copy of this with free running added.

If you want survival you're gonna have a bad time.

salmon_slapped3532d ago

@Rock-lee
I meant to put a first person DR3 reference like Omnisonne, but Dead Island 2 sounds like another zombie slaughter game fun and violent but simple. Dying Light you can't always cut your way through crowds like Dead Island and at night the zombies can destroy you. Its not a survival game like DayZ but it is still a survival game nonetheless since you cant just kill everything.

Omnisonne3531d ago

Hm yes, the two games will probably be pretty similar, but when it comes to Dying Light at nighttime.. Low visibility with super zombie-mutants chasing you everywhere, you bet it will become a game about surviving lol

Anyhow Ill be playing and enjoying both ofcourse, gonna be a good time:)

Good. Live Services are trash for the most part.

Rainbow 6 Siege from December 2015 is not even comparable to whatever that thing is today they call Siege.

Dying Light 2 was horrible. I played it at launch and it was a buggy and broken piece of shit. I didn't enjoy the game's locale either. They've released a ton of patches and updates for it though, and I'm somewhat keen to give it another chance. But the game left a horrible impression on me, especially seeing as how the first one was my favourite game last gen.
