2014 In Reflection: The Disappointments So Far

Pixel Gate writes:

''As the busy window of major release comes ever a closer, it seems like a good time for a spot of reflection. 2014 was set to be the next generations first year of glory, but has it been the case? 2014 has been a strange year, filled with delays and more questions than answers. With hardware questions and concerns aside, the games of 2014 (so far) have been a mixed bag. Major releases, returning favorites and under the radar games, plenty of choice.''

Forget the fanboy wars. Forget fanboys all together. They are much more enjoyable to interact with than this new class of "person."

Hateboys are the most obnoxious, idiotic jerks in gaming right now. You often see them write stuff about how well received games that are enjoyed by millions are "disappointing," "underwhelming," "a letdown."

If gaming makes you so miserable, then why do you hateboys do it? You're all so negative all the time about EVERYTHING! Is it a hipster thing?

Is it hipster to hate anything that is mainstream or AAA or enjoyed by millions? Sounds like it.

Do you know what is the most disappointing thing about gaming in 2014 so far? Articles like this.

Hateboys need to find something else to do with their lives.

What on earth are you talking about? What the fudge is a' 'hate boy' ?

Also given all you do is post comments and reports...I don't think you're in the position to give life adivce.

If your bizarre assumptions were true then a whole batch of other games would of been listed, but no...they are not. Calm down with your overly sensitive nature. None of the mentioned games are even labeled as bad.

You clearly have a issue given your constant reporting and angry posts. Calm down.

Why are you so angry? And at video games of all things? You don't have to partake if you don't want to.

Let it go, guy, let it go.

Completely agree and love the term "hateboy" lol. I'm not sure though really, are gamers just really that damn negative and hateful or are these sort of things clickbait? These days there seems to be far more negative articles hating on something than there are people celebrating their hobby, it's a pretty sad state tbh.

How was any of that post 'hating'?

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
