The truth is some of them could end up there after a year or two but most of them will remain on xbx. Also in the case of dead rising and ryse,both games were funded by MS. Capcom and crytek are also in some major financial trouble so it makes sense that they would be putting these games on pc to generate income. Ms would be crazy to hold them back from doing so cos right now both capcom&crytek need all the cash they can get. Truth is it would be more surprising if these games came to wiiu or ps4.

MS and crytek are started out on pc(windows,DX, cryengine,age of empires, flightsimulator, mechwarrior etc) and if they decide to release certain ips of theirs on pc its ok imo but trying to downplay MS and xbox one cos of this news is just so naïve....but coming from you it aint too surprising.

you're forgetting that Crytek is 3rd party and had great ties to PC gaming.

when it comes to "3rd party" companies, If it's Crytek, EA, Ubisoft, Capcom, SE, ect other 3rd parties. they have a possibility to come to PC. It doesn't matter a specific platform it originated from.

I think they're promoting it better than AW though. I remember watching the Alan Wake game videos and thinking, "Who would buy this game based on these trailers/demos". It was dreadfully boring.

On the other hand, despite it's hype, it's still a niche product. I'd place it in the same vein as Heavy Rain or Beyond in it's broad mass market appeal.

I wouldn't count on Sunset Overdrive coming to PC. Insomniac doesn't do PC and the game, feature wise, belongs on consoles. A PS4 port is less unlikely than a PC port, but I doubt we'll see either one.

That's inaccurate. The game of the year awards usually ends up a multiplatform game. COD, (soon gtaV will get a PC port), Skyrim...and the list goes on.

Those are not also on the PC, but also the definitive versions. Mod support, maxed texture quality, native resolution support and consistent 60+ fps.

Don't forget constant day 1 updates as you don't need to wait weeks for a patch to reach certification and all over issues limiting the console.

Game of the year awards mean nothing. It's all to please the mainstream, it's a popularity contest.

The PC has it's fair share of exclusive goodies. League of Legends, Dota 2, Path of Exile, Civilization 5, Sims,TF2, Hearthstone, StarCraft series, Warcraft series and it stil has the biggest MMORPG's

The list goes on, not too mention steam sales.

Same here, I still own the game (digitally) but haven't put enough time into the multiplayer. Haven't had many friends to play through the multiplayer with. Both consoles are loosing exclusives and will keep loosing them. Games dev costs are getting higher and higher, making exclusivity not financially viable.

Sony will try to keep their exclusives as exclusives, while MS won't mind publishing PC+XBOne, as it is a win-win for MS. Having more games into DX instead of OpenGL in PC, means less chances OpenGL OSes such as SteamOS, OS X and Linux gaming will get a significant foothold in the gaming word.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. Remedy and PC have a strong relationship that goes quite far back. I would say that there is a 95% chance that Quantum Break comes to Steam after a short time of exclusivity on X1.

I bought my OEM windows copy 5 years ago for $90, I havent had to give MS a cent since then. And that $90 saved me from spening $400-$500.

The point is, MS may be getting money very indirectly from pc gaming, but at its core, they are just hurting the xbox one by removing reasons to purchase it.

QB and SSOD are the only games left i even remotely want to play on XB1, but at theis point I ambetter off waiting to see if they will announce for others.

not the same at all, MS takes a cut (royalty) on all Xbox games, and makes money from XBL Gold. The only money MS makes from PC gaming are from the Windows licenses (which is the same whether you use a PC for gaming or not) and revenue from games they published. nobody needs to pay MS to make a game on PC.

I love Ryse! It got a lot of flak, but I really thought it was great. I think the co-op coliseum mode is fun too.

I know I don't and won't have a PC that could run this at any better resolution than my XB1 so i'll stick with that version, but I'd recommend this game to any PC owner that likes action heavy games with combat that's part batman arkham and part god of war (though probably not as tight as either.) Still, it's a good buy.

You're forgetting to run Ryse on a PC you're going to need a significantly powerful setup compared to just buying an Xbox One to be able to run this game with respectable Performance/FPS.

And before i get troused with the typical comments like "you can build a PC for this much"... You're still spending ALOT more than buying a console to facilitate decent performance on that platform.

Considering it run on XBO (basically an underclocked R7 260), I don't think you need a powerful PC to run Ryse at comparable setting to the XBO.

Recommended Specs are probably:

CPU: Intel Quad Core / AMD 6 core

GPU:
NVIDIA: 700 series (750 Ti or above), 600 series (650 Ti boost or above)

AMD: R7 / R9 series (R7 260 or above), HD 7000 series (7770 or above), HD 6000 series (HD 6850 or above)

RAM: 8GB

On the lower scale you might have to settle for 720p, but those are $100 Graphics cards or less.

True, but that effort didn't really come until this year, which also happens to be when the XBO was showing signs of struggling.

I'm not complaining, I personally don't think MS really needs the XBO, and I think it's much better that they focus on PC. If there needs to be a PC console, then MS should simply be a partner and let someone like Valve produce the console, and have MS support it, which is pretty much what the XB was trying to be, but didn't ever live up to.

Steambox + Xbox, should be a viable gaming platform and will force Sony and Nintendo to be on their toes.

Personally I'd prefer this, PlayStation + Steambox (PC console) + Nintendo Fusion (handheld / console hybrid)

A simple 3 platform future, which saves me from having to buy a PlayStation console, PlayStation handheld, Nintendo console, Nintendo handheld, Xbox, Upgrade my PC.

That's at least $2,000 in console hardware and PC upgrades every generation. Whereas the 3 platform future should be $1,200 tops ($500 both consoles, $200 handheld).

I think it's like this, if the game doesn't do well in sales or sell like they projected it to sell. Microsoft would say, we are going to develope this on PC and see if we can get more sales.. That's why I think dead rising and Ryse are going to pc, just like Alan Wake.

If the sales aren't there on one platform, they will always have the PC market to help boost sales. I wouldn't take it so badly, a lot of people haven't made that transition to the Xbox One yet. If Ryse sold atleast 2 mil units, they wouldn't be going to PC..

I guess you cant trust a game to be XBOX exclusive unless it was made by a MS studio or MS OWNS all rights to the IP.

I think this is hurting Ms somewhat, Sony and Nintendo don't throw the word around with such little care and MS still pretends that multiplats are "ONLY on XBOX" or "EXCLUSIVE".

MS need to get it together and even if a game, so called exclusive is third party they still need the exclusives. MS should pay up cause exclusives gives gamers reasons to come and stay and if you dont have exclusives and people dont trust you with exclusives and have more to look forward to then that is bad. X1 would sell more of it was the only place to play games.

Sony and Nintendo knows, not to say X1 doesnt have proper exclusives but MS lineup of first party is bleak compared to Nintendo and Sony. Whenever I buy a PS I look forward to the exlusives the most. SOny have lots of first party devs, and they are killing it. also Sony have solid relations and keep most exclusives. Resistance, Ratchet, And the Quantic Dream games comes to mind. Paid IPS and paid to be exclusives and help fund development. It works and that is what MS need to do hopefully forever but at least until they can generate the level of first party content Sony or Nintendo does. not drop the ball or wait 8-9 years to buy Gears of war IP or something...
