"Many people considered Super Mario 3D World to be one of the best games of 2013, if not the best game of 2013. The game has excellent level design, mechanics, multiplayer, and graphics, but the one thing that I feel has been criminally overlooked is the game’s excellent soundtrack. It is not just a cool set of songs to listen to; it is a defining characteristic of the game. More importantly, whereas other soundtracks just may fit well with the subject matter, this one takes risks, venturing deep into the realm of the jazz genre and introducing several very genuinely musical elements nary seen in games. For this article, I would like to look at one song in particular that truly defines the direction of the whole game" -- Nintendo Enthusiast.
There’s still hope for Super Mario 3D World’s legacy in this modern era of Nintendo.
If they do make a sequel, they should incorporate Bowser’s Fury’s game design into the mix. Think Bowser’s Fury’s overworld where you can find warp points to linear levels like Mario 3D World.
The iconic red plumber have taken us everywhere, from another galaxy to New Donk City. Here are the best Super Mario games you can play right now.
I still say the series peaked with Galaxy. They've put out good stuff since then, but nothing really matched up.
It's time for Nintendo to give the Super Mario 3D World formula another chance with a new game built from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch.
Rather have a new Super Mario RPG.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is my favorite Mario. I'd event take a remaster/remake.
My favourite Mario’s are Mario 64 and SM World SNES. Neither Odyssey nor 3D World were great imo.
SM3DW has an absolutely AMAZING soundtrack. I especially love Bowser's theme park tune. So catchy, but so simple.
It did have great music.some of the best in years.
I do have to say tho dk tropical freeze the music made the game. Each level was perfect. I'm a musician and actually a lot of my influence is drawn from my childhood playing video games and amazing cartoon theme songs from the time(rockos modern life, rugrats all had great interesting music) because of that even when I'm playing I never stop listening no matter how into the game I am. And dk tropical freeze and Mario kart has some high points.
I would say if anything the music in 3d world and tropical freeze are equal. And they both have been the best music in a game in years
I could agree.
(Sandstorm by Darude is the song)
I like a lot of Jazz, but I don't like Trash Jazz, so I have to disagree with the sentiments of this article. The music in 3D World is Trash Jazz, and it drove me nuts.
