I didn't read the article yet but i can name a few.
Farcry,assassin creed,batman,shadow of mordor,witcher 3,metal gear,dragon age
GTA 5 (again ) the crew,sunset overdrive,the division.

Those are the ones i'm looking forward to owning.

Adexus3552d ago

I'll be getting all those except The Crew, I wanted it until I tried the beta and it didn't impress me in the slightest, the map size is nice but everything else is done rather poorly.

guitarded773552d ago

Yeah, I want The Crew to be awesome, but I haven't been impressed yet. Great idea... they just need better execution.

The list includes Destiny, which isn't really an open world game. It has some big maps like Halo, but the hub takes you from place to place.

I know Bloodborne is a ways off, but it's one of my most anticipated open world games.

wastedcells3551d ago

Played the crew at E3 and I can't even remeber it lol. It was nothing special sadly. Hoping for a really cool next gen racing game one day but the crew isn't it. They should make a racing game that isn't so focused on open worlds and more focused on really fun, fast and crazy racing like in the ps2 generation when burnout and NSF HP2 came out and everyone loved racing games.

All I want right now is fallout 4!

Randostar3552d ago

This article is about games, first light is a stand alone DLC.

BiggCMan3552d ago

Yes but it being standalone is what makes it....a standalone game ^_^

ICANPLAYGAMES23552d ago

Well, the ones that I'm interested in, and getting are Batman, Shadow of Mordor, Witcher 3, and Metal Gear. Though I'll probably also get GTA 5 again, don't know about the Crew yet (it's on the radar peripheral). Also, put me down for Xenoblade Chronicles, even though it isn't listed.

legionsoup3551d ago

This list is basically exactly what my list is as well.

Mr-Dude3551d ago

Witcher, Metal Gear, FC4, Shadow Of Mordor and Batman are my games. Destiny is coming next month, this game is going to eat up my little time I have. GTA V remake is a big no for me. I didn't enjoy it on the PS3. Maybe AC-Unity, but I wanna see more of it first.

TimeSkipLuffy3552d ago

Destiny doesn't feel like an open world game to me. It took elements of a MMO and open world game but after playing the beta it rather seems more like a Halo shooter with other elements mixed in. It was still fun though.

geddesmond3552d ago

I played the beta and then I canceled my pre order. Game has some good qualities but it just felt too repetitive. Incoming disagrees in 5,4,3,2,1 go.

BiggCMan3552d ago

I think a lot of that can be written off because of it being a beta though honestly.

You really only had 4 or 5 missions to do, and you did them a bunch of times. Then in Crucible you only had 4 levels to play on over and over again doing the SAME game mode.

I don't believe that's the games fault, it's just that it was a beta. The only negative thing about the beta was that so many people felt that it was a game, forgetting that it was just an actual beta test.

This turned out to hurt the game because of a lot of peoples stupidity.

purp13m0nk3y3551d ago

I agree. I had fun with the Beta, but is was very repetitive. The weapons all felt the same too.

I cancelled my preorder too. I'll wait for a few reviews and some user feedback before I drop for the full game.

It had moments of sheer awesome, but I walked away from the beta with an overall 'meh' feeling.

I couldn't deal with the whole walk for a few hundred meters, kill a group of generic baddies, walk a few hundred metres, kill a group of generic baddies, rinse and repeat mission structure that EVERY SINGLE mission followed.

It would have been ok except the combat wasn't even all that interesting. And I blame that on the bland uninteresting enemies and bland repetitive arsenal.

I not saying it's a bad game. It's just not particularly interesting. My favourite part by far was the exploration of the post apocalyptic world. It's just a pity that area was so small. Definitely does not feel "Open World" at all.

Cyanide853551d ago

I have to say that I'm really looking forward to Destiny still, as stated before what we played was a beta and the full game will be much bigger and I'm still hoping that the missions will get more varied further on in the game.

Saw a video of a dev showing off what u get to do after level 20 and to me it seems like the game will be much more fun later on plus all the DLC bungie promised hope that they will deliver on that to.

Maybe I'll be disappointed but only the future will tell, I just really want a good new FPS.

peshkavusCA3551d ago

@geddesmond it's just Beta... Have fun with other games though..

geddesmond3551d ago

I understand it's just a beta but I've been an EU Sony beta tester for 6 years now and tested a lot of games. You don't get a whole lot of the game in a beta buts its main core is there and that's the repetitive part.

Missions all felt the same just like Purpemonkey stated. Walk, enemies, kill, repeat. Not to mention all the enemies respawning so quickly.

@PeskavasCA

I will have fun playing other games don't you worry. Thats the beautiful thing about gaming. If you don't like one game then there's always another to take its place.

Fallout 4, the division, next read dead. Need there be anymore?

psman0123552d ago

Those three + The Phantom Pain. Ground Zeroes got me so hyped for the full game.

KnightRobby3552d ago

AC Unity and Destiny this year are going to be my main games. Can't wait to try the new LOTR game though!

Clumpy3552d ago

Great list. Surprised neither Zelda U or Xenoblades Cronicles is on the list. That aside, the open-world game i'm looking the most forward to is Bloodborne.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
