August PlayStation Plus Leaked Lineup Dismissed by Devs

Overnight, popular website GamePur reported that August’s supposedly ‘eclectic’ roster of PlayStation Plus freebies had been leaked – but developers have since emerged to dismiss the reports. The site claimed – citing a Russian source – that the goodies in Europe would comprise of Octodad: Dadliest Catch and The Swapper on the PlayStation 4, Saints Row IV and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon on the PlayStation 3, and 1001 Spikes and Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland on the PlayStation Vita."

I knew that something is wrong. Doesn't make any sense for Swapper because this game is on preorder sale on US PSN. How in the whole world game could be free for August?

Yeah... they are giving a PS+ discount on PSN right now for launch, so Sony would look really bad to give it away the same month it is being released.

I want to purchase Swapper on my Wii U. Seems to be a great have gamepad game. That's the only problem with have all three consoles. If want a game on one console, but it's free on a different console, then you go with console that has it for free.

Saints Row IV going to plus wouldn't be surprising, 2&3 went plus. The swapper being listed was a big red flag among the titles, i have Blood Dragon already. If you can learn anything from the news currently, you can't trust the russians :D

these rumors suck for devs, now people are in the back of their head think this game is free and probably discouraged from ever buying it at full price.

octodad is also a great game, but i hope its not part of igc. i have that game already. im just hoping i get a game i would never plan to buy, thise games are normally the big surprises.

Why can't there be a europe tag? I live in America, couldn't care less what europe is getting. Putting europe in the title would have saved a lot of people time from clicking on an article that had nothing to do with them.

Because sites need views and they only lose views when they stipulate which region they're talking about. With that being said, a lot of people also don't care since so far PS4 games have been universal and what 1 region gets gives you an idea of what another region might get. Like Europe got Muramasa a few months back and we got it this month.
