5 Overlooked Wii U Games, New Owners Should Play

N247 writes: So you finally bought a Wii U? Well, congratulations! The Wii U may have had a slow start, but everything is now coming together the way we all thought it would when the system launched. Thanks to the recent launch of Mario Kart 8, the Wii U has become a very popular gaming system. However, Mario Kart 8 is not the only great game on the system, in-fact, the Wii U has some of the best games this generation. Unfortunately, many new Wii U owners may not know of about some of the great titles that came before Mario Kart 8.

ind1fference3554d ago

There are more games available than WiiUs sold.

randomass1713554d ago

There are seven million games in the Wii U library?! O_O Where the heck have I been?!

Now if someone had made a remark like this about a Sony product like the Vita, they would have been moderated in minutes.

iplay1up23553d ago

DERP, Stupid comment, are you what 12 or 13? The Wii U has sold More that XB1, and in fact I think this Holiday Wii U will sell way more than XB1, what are you playing? A last gen system?

PS
PC does not count as a console.

ind1fference3553d ago

So apparently my extremely hyperbolic comment has been taken seriously. I'll clear my head by playing Rayman Legends...on my Wii U.

I don't think Zombi U was overlooked.

JacketsNest1013554d ago

He's not saying it was overlooked, but that it is overlooked.

JacketsNest1013551d ago

Sorry, that was kinda confusing. I meant to say that he is saying that is currently being overlooked, but that when it released it was not overlooked.

illmatic3554d ago

Deus Ex is definitely a great game for the Wii U. Probably the best version available.

lilbroRx3553d ago (Edited 3553d ago )

No it isn't, and it will not be until they lower the price to not a penny more than what is costs on the PS3 and 360 currently.

randomass1713553d ago

They were selling all the versions for less than $20 a month ago. Why didn't you pick it up then?

paulcek3553d ago

On Amazon Deus Ex is 16.89 (Wii U version)
PS3 version costs 15.69.
360 version costs 15.65
PC version is 19.99

It's a dollar difference. And it's worth it.

iplay1up23553d ago

Look another NON Wii U owner saying how pricing should be....The Wii U version Of Duex Ex on Wii U is far better than on PS360. Yet another DERP Comment.

All you have to do is READ what the developers say before commenting so stupidly.

Looking Ahead: The Lingering Questions About the Next Mario Kart

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."

I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.

gold_drake7d ago

there wont be a new one until the switch 2 comes out.

nintendo needs their bangers early on
