Hardcore Gamer: When games jump from platform to platform, changes are inevitable. Be they small differences in frame rates or fundamental changes in mechanics and features, these variations can drastically change the feel of a game. With Version Control we seek to catalog these differences, stack them up against each other, and determine which system, if any, hosts a game's definitive port.
Sega is set to bring some of its most loved franchises to film and TV! It has just been announced that Stories International, the production arm of Sega in a joint venture with Hakuhodo DY Group, is going to partner up with Circle of Confusion to produce adaptations of Sega’s hugely popular video games Altered Beast and Streets of Rage for film and television as well as several other hit franchises.
Annoying that they would create a Streets of Rage series but not another game. Granted, a new game would never live up to the expectations of the fans but it would still be nice to see.
So many great titles to choose from. How about Space Harrier or Altered Beasts?!
Virtua Fighter was a staple in Arcade’s in the mid-90’s, and found a great following on the Saturn and Dreamcast as well during the prime of the series. Another version of Virtua Fighter was released quietly on the Sega Genesis however, and it seems like time has forgotten this game. Is it worth checking out though? Let’s find out!
Readers Vietnamvet celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Saturn, and recommends 12 of its best games – from Burning Rangers to Sega Rally.
Oh saturn, how I love thee! I still have a black UK spec console that was chipped by CEX to play games from any region..also has a 50/60Hz switch...and my white limited edition JDM saturn. Both still work perfectly and I will NEVER sell them or the games I have amassed for them. The saturn versions of capcom fighting games are still the best to this day, imo.
One of the best fighting games ever.
Saturn version FTW!
I played the hell out of the Saturn and arcade versions. Got it on my PS3. No one plays it online. :(
I remember playing this for the 1st time on arcade and i choose Akira or Sarah as my main character. Great time :3
Definitely THE fighting game of it's time. Such a technical masterpiece. Too bad button mashing and special effects (yeah i'm talking about you Tekken) meant more to people at the time.
