This same thing could be said about pretty much any platform.

if you are bored with the wii, get a ps3/360
if you are bored with the 360, get a ps3
if you are bored with a ps3, get a 360
if you are bored with a ps4, get a saturn
if you are bored with a saturn, get a gamecube

the list goes on and on until you have so many systems and games you dont know what you want to play and then you end up not playing any of them.

^Seriously? You never owned a PS3, it's library is by far superior to the X360. The best games of last gen were PS3 exclusives, TLOU, Demon's Souls, Journey or God Of War 3 to mention a few.

The PS3 is an amazing console. it is by far my most favorite Sony console of all time.

It had a rough start, but it ultimately outsold the 360. And, it has the best collection of exclusive of all, most of which are critically acclaimed exclusives and GOTYs.

I got the PS4 for one reason and one reason alone, TLOU. It is the first game that made me want a Playstation since the days of when I had a PS2. Halo completely swept me off my feet from 2004 til present and beyond! But TLOU looks too dope to pass up! So NOW I have every newer platform besides PS3, WiiU, and unfortunately no PC :( Also have a 3DS and a Nintendo 64 that won't seem to die. :D BTW Resogun and Killer Instinct are the BEST games on PS4 and Xbox 1

I had a ps3 wasn't that great to be honest and getting online downloading updates was just a pain majority of the time uncharted was a good game but waaaaaaaaaay over rated god of war was fun and liked twisted metal. I might buy one used latter. I'm considering a ps4 because I think the order may be a great game and it has me considering a purchase

PS3 is best console right now, hands down. Best games library, best price/value and more must-have exclusives coming soon (ex. Persona 5).
Thats the reason I dont buy PS4 yet, because PS3 keeps me busy.

I personally wouldn't buy eight year old hardware. Especially when I have a PC in which the library of games are massive and have a huge back catalog of games.

I disagree also, for different reasons. If I had an Xbox One, and was feeling gaming woes, then instead of paying an extra $200 for a PS3 on top of the $400-$500 for the Xbox One, I'd just trade that in and get a PS4. You'd have access to 8th gen games still (albeit slightly better graphics), & you can jump on the PS Now, with a 100+ game library for PS3 at launch. Game prices will improve (hopefully a subscription system), plus the PS3 library will increase, as well as eventual plans for PS1 & PS2 games. Sounds like best of ALL worlds, to me...

PS Now prices are pretty overpriced and is really aimed at people without a PlayStation 4 so I wouldn't partake in such a program. Gamefly is a better deal.

I would choose a PS3 over trading in an Xbox One and getting a PS4 to be stuck in the same problem.

You do know that 97% of all games between Xbox One & PS4 will be shared, right? With PROBABLY better graphics for those 97% multiplats on PS4. But with YOUR rationale, you're saying you'd rather pay $700 plus PS3 games instead of $400, shared, improved, multiplats, & access to PS3 games also (and PS1 & PS2 later), is that right? Well your changing the entire premise of the article. It was about keeping an Xbox One as a constant but in your scenario you got rid of the Xbox One.

Well why would you do that. You clearly bought it for the exclusive games. If you wanted to play superior multiplatform games you would own a PC.

Also in your agreement you aren't paying only $400 for a PS4 because you said you already bought an Xbox One assuming it's the $500 and you traded for a PS4 so you end up spending the same money.

I'm not against buying a PS4 it will have to be a very special game for me to buy one though.

Gears of War was one of two reasons i bought an xb1. I doubt i'll be getting a PS3. I've moved on to next gen. I do play my 360 just for Gears of War 3.

I had a Playstation 2 can't remember why i bought a 360 to be honest coming from Playstation? Its a mystery to me thinking back now.

Personally i think everyone would own a PS4 and xb1, if you could buy one for 100 dollars or so.

As it stands now. The xb1 game line up just interests me more. But i like the look of the Order, pity it had no online experience i would have been tempted.

You bought xbox one at an overinflated price for a game that was barely announced let alone any actual gameplays been shown off, got a long wait for gears of war xbox one or next Christmas! On that logic I bought my ps4 for the last guardian or god of war 4, nah I bought it because it's already technically superior, it was already cheaper and it offers more besides just games available right now. Come Christmas come early next year if the multiplatform games can't even keep up on xbox one there gonna struggle bad in a years time, they couldn't even get the re release of tomb raider at 1080p on xbox one I dread to think what resolution this new tomb raiders gonna be, either way not too bothered I made an informed decision and the right one, sure some people may prefer the xbox games line up but seriously you wanna per pay for the console just to play some launch day sequels which are already having more sequels made forza, battlefield, call of duty assassins creed, I'd rather play those all cheaper elsewhere and if I do really wanna play those on next gen just wait a few weeks and get on the cheap, xbox was never a day one purchase barely a first year purchase the way it's going but in a year or 2 sure they'll have settled on price and hopefully some decent games but at the moment? Nah!

PS3 is the best last gen console no doubt. Best exclusives and free online play. If you can't get a PS4 yet PS3 is a good choice. By all means stay away from XB1 for now. The way things are going with MS lately there's no telling what they gonna do. I still believe XB1 will get another price drop for the holidays so hold off and wait.

I had a ps3, had some great games. Sold it due to long loading times, trophies, downloading was a chore and online not great. Had terrible lag on all call of duty's. I had been spoiled by xbox360, so went back to that. Its still my go to machine with the amount if games available.

I had a ps3 on launch broke got another fails it left it a year or 2 and then recently was really into my nintendo as had a 3ds and wii u both since launch but then I buy 99% of consoles on launch day ( dreamcast, GameCube, ps2 week after launch due to supply, week or 2 after launch for xbox 360 again supply issues) wii, wii u, ps3, 3DS and a ps4 on launch. Xbox one nah, overpriced not decided what they wanna do yet and the games aren't floating my boat, sure in a year or 2 it'll be a fantastic console but for the time being ps4 is not only technically superior it's cheaper and has had new free games each and every month since day one like ps3 has done for months, now you'll see I didn't get a vita on launch, was loving my 3DS so just decided against due to price and games but then the price came down and the month that katamari, street fighter x tekken, uncharted and gravity rush were all FREE the console pretty much paid for itself £40 for a 32gb vita card and yeah it paid to wait but not only that it pretty much paid for itself which is my point even tho ps4 was barely 6-12 months away I still went out and got a ps3 as I've giving up paying gold on my xbox 360 just finishing the games up before packing it up, really wanted gran turismo 6 GTA5, god of war ascension amongst others but wow ps+ has pretty much paid for my ps3 since October gone a bit dry at the moment but I've bought or downloaded 90% of what I want (of course there's always a few other Games just happy to wait and see what goes free these days instead of buying them all on launch for £40 a pop and then seeing it reduced within a week or 2 and normally not having even started the game (unless gta5 or something) due to the massive backlog, my very long winded point is with ps+ if you haven't played a ps3 in a year or 2 and there's a few games you wanna play why not grab one on the cheap, ps+ will see you good, I did wanna play last of us and bought it when it came out but ended up selling it recently (Ellie edition) as this new amazing ps4 version is due out that and GTA5 (yes I'll be buying again) that's all I'm wanting on ps4 at the mo in happy if it's a quiet chrimbo as mines been packed up to save space and dust damage and mainly because my older consoles are being used before they are getting packed up or sold on ps4 is going nowhere but still a great time to get a ps3 amazing library of games some great exclusives (even heavy rain and beyond were pretty amazing) but yeah why not have both you get free games on each each month and worse comes to worse to finish up your ps3 and sell it on for more ps4 games just be careful what games you go out and buy on ps3 what with the chances a lot of the ps3 games are gonna get the high def treatment, no major bad thing when sony have just had the common sense that they've actually managed to make a lot of xbox gamers to jump ship, even the Americans and those guys are rightly so Microsoft mad, it's a company from their own country but come on people if the Americans don't even want an xbox one doesn't that tell you something get a ps4 if you can afford if not grab a ps3 and some plus and enjoy all your free games ;)

I've got a ps4 and an xbox one. Selling off my ps3 next week since there's plenty to play with those 2 systems and ps now is here if I really want to play something on it. Sold off my 360 right after I got both those systems and don't regret it one bit. The only reason I kept my ps3 around was for the blu ray player but there's a good trade in promo for it again and I got a extra blu ray player I can hook up in that room. Also sold those two systems because all the best games are getting remastered like tomb raider, the last of us, halo mcc, and I hope to see an uncharted trilogy remaster and I'll be set.
