The Last of Us 2? 'There's nothing on the horizon right now', says Troy Baker

Voice actor Troy Baker has said that he would "gladly" reprise his role as Joel should Naughty Dog ask him to return for The Last of Us 2, but confirmed that "there's nothing on the horizon right now" when it comes to developing a sequel.

You do know that him and ND are apparently good friends. I saw an interview him and pretty much he was answering the questions about ND. So yes i would say he knows.

Do you think he'd admit if they were working on a sequel? Voice actors have said things in the past that bit them in the butt. I think Troy Baker is smart enough to deny these type of things.

Hopefully he's involved. I know people want to play as a grown up Ellie, I do aswell but I still think we should play as Joel for half the story....telling two sides

Maybe he could die in the end so Ellie will take over but I'd rather they do that in the third game. I'd rather the first trilogy see Joels story as he trains Ellie so she'll take over fully.

The Last of Us 2 is probably a ways out. They have Uncharted then probably another game be it new IP or old than the Last of Us. I mean it just came out last year, dlc completed this year and remaster this year. Also would you truly want a sequel with Joel and Ellie again?

Why would they make a sequel if they can reap benefits by remaking the original?

I'm not saying that a sequel isn't in the works, but lets think for a moment. Which makes more sense for ND? Investing in another project with high costs and thousands of man hours, or remastering the already finished product?

This is the reason that makes remastered games an insidious Trojan horse.

I love ND as devs too, but for the love of all that's fun, we must make them sing for their supper too.

I feel like if there were to be a sequel it wouldn't follow Joel and Ellie together. My reasoning is that their story is over, they went through a lot together and just when you thought the worst for Joel it all unfolded to be a happy ending and that's perfect it doesn't need any more. Now just Ellie and maybe a new partner? I think that's more likely.

Please ND... I respect every game you've made since the PS1 era. Leave TLOU as a cornerstone in gaming history. Let it stand on it's own... no sequels please. The lore of this one game in the "series" would be incredible.

That's super impressive for a new IP, so they're not going to leave that alone.

I'm with you, that if they never touched the franchise again it wouldn't leave me wanting as some of the greatest works of art exist as standalone pieces, but if Druck & Straley feel another story can be told, I trust them to deliver another masterpiece.

Why? They created a very interesting world in TloU and a lot of people, including me, wants to know more about it. For me it's a crime if they only made one game without making a sequel and tell different characters / countries with their own struggle. Not to mention with PS4 they can add more element to the gameplay.

Good we don't want another TLoU for another 5 to 10 years. If they started to create sequels every 2 to 3 years it would get silly. TLoU is a gem and should not get a sequel just for money. Take your time guys and release an even better TLoU (which is incredibly hard!)

I don't really care if there is no sequel, as long as Naughty Dog keeps making games and experimenting with new concepts. TLOU was all the more awesome for being new and unique compared to other ND games. They must have a range of other ideas too, and I doubt their A-team could ever make a bad game.

Depends on how well it sold really obviously its well received that doesn't matter, I know for sure its the best game I ever played. It was like reading a book I couldn't put down I played it straight through none stop, just had to know more and more and more. I welcome a second one, I really hope there's a second one I just hope if there is it doesn't ruin the experience I had with the first. Its ND so I'm sure it will be great no matter what.
