After Watch Dogs, Batman Arkham City is the next on my list. Then I plan to buy Arkham Origins.

Do you like the game?

Deividas3570d ago

Its an okay game. But it will be a HUGE letdown if you play it right after Arkham City...

Ezz20133570d ago (Edited 3570d ago )

i don't agree
it have better story and longer, acting is great, the atmosphere and the armor and boss fights and the side quest is far better than B:AC
also Bane was really the true Bane i wanted all along in Batman game
no the stupid version of Batman and Robin Crappy movie where Batman have Credit Card

the real problem that this game have is that it didn't look that much different than AC and lots of Glitchs .

i know that i'm the only on the internet who think that though
anyway Arkham Kight look and feel far better than both in pretty much every possible way

@Palitera

the gameplay is pretty much the same with few minor tweaks here and there

@Deividas
Yeah, i know ...i shall forever stand in the dark cornor alone with my opinion :(

But Arkham knight amazed me to no end
can't wait to get my hand on this very epic game

Palitera3570d ago

Is it more of the same or actually worse?

Also, gameplay-wise, how does it fare against the two precedent masterpieces?

camel_toad3570d ago

Yeh I thought just okay at best too. It sucked compared to what Rocksteady did but that's what happens sometimes when you hand off a franchise.

Deividas3570d ago (Edited 3570d ago )

@ Palitera

Its more of the same. And thats the issue, Arkham City improved on almost every part from Akrham Asylum while origins, just does exactly what the others have done. It doesnt try much of anything new really and there are no really "memorable parts" of that game. You will still enjoy it but its just not on the same level as Rocksteady level design, characters, or story telling.

@Ezz
Yea you might be one of the few that enjoyed it over AC but if you like it then fair enough :) its all a matter of opinion anyways, but yea I do agree Arkham Knight looks like a vast improvement, but again...Rocksteady knows you cant just do the same thing in a franchise and keep it relevant.

Thanks.

Lots of +helpfuls to you.

They've fixed a lot of the bugs.
It's a solid game now.

Great evidence scanning system
Better Boss Fights than Arkham City
Strong cast of characters/actors
Does a great job telling the Origin stories of characters, surprisingly well.

You'll enjoy it. People build up Arkham City to stupid expectations...Arkham City is an epic game and an awesome batman game if you play all of it, but bare in mind Origins was WB Montreals first game taking the mantle of Rocksteadys legacy. They've learned a lot from launch.

Christopher3570d ago

Well, they could improve by supporting their game rather than promoting DLC and saying that they won't fix game-breaking issues in it.

so which subject is this article about
THIS- Where Did Batman: Arkham Origins Go Wrong?
OR THIS - With Arkham Knight on the way, will it improve upon Arkham Origins?

seems like 2 different subjects

Outside_ofthe_Box3570d ago

It wasn't developed by Rocksteady.

Vandamme213570d ago

My only problem with origins was the fact that the kombat system didn't feel as good as city and asylum..but overall it was a solid game.

gabbboolo3570d ago

I liked the game, but it was just less interesting than arkham city. Also Gotham was just a Christmas reskin. But at the end of the day it was more of the Arkham gameplay I like, and Troy baker did a good job.

The best Batman Arkham game still isn’t on PS5, and that’s a problem

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is almost here, but I can't revisit the best Arkhamverse game on PS5 without sacrificing quality.

Not a fan of Orgins. Blame it on the absence of Conroy & Hamill. Blame it on the lack of atmosphere compared to Asylm. Hell blame it the devs thst dicked over Wii U owners like me that purchased the game only for support be dropped as a thank you to me. It's better than Knight but that's not saying much. I don't care for that entry either.

Rebel_Scum95d ago

tbh buying a game like that for WiiU should’ve been an obvious non-purchase when it existed on better hardware.

Cacabunga95d ago

Origins is amazing..
my favorite Batman is Batman and Robin on mega drive.. an HD REMASTER of that would still look glorious

ZeekQuattro94d ago

I got it launch. Kinda hard to go back. I'm supposed to know they were going to drop support months after the fact. 🤣

Exvalos95d ago

You sound like a salty fanboy, that it didn't come to your precious plastic of choice. It's not the developers fault Nintendo continues making underpowered hardware. It's our fault because we keep buying it. Yes I say (we) I'm part of the problem as well.

ZeekQuattro94d ago

I have a PS3 and a Wii U. How was I a salty fanboy? I bought the game on the system I wanted it for.

Rebel_Scum94d ago

Nah my comment has nothing to do with whether you’d know or not that they’d drop support.

Buying any AAA game of that era for a WiiU you should’ve known you’d be sacrificing graphics and load times.

LucasRuinedChildhood95d ago

It's solid but Origins is definitely not the best Arkham game.

LoveSpuds94d ago

Smacks of hyperbole to me, talk about clutching at straws to create some drama around PS5!!

generic-user-name94d ago

Titles like these are designed to get you to come in, go to their comment section and tell them how they're so wrong so they can boost their numbers.

Phoenix7695d ago

Even though its not the best arkham game in the series, its still an enjoyable game in its own right. What it do really well at though, was the crime investigations scenes. Which imo, were the best of the franchise.

goldwyncq95d ago

I don’t know about best game but it definitely has the best story and boss fights.

boing195d ago

Never played it and recently I've finally tried it via cloud on psn. It's not the best for sure, but it ain't bad either.

Batman: Arkham Origins - Open World Busy Work that Doesn't Hold Up 10 Years Later

Batman: Arkham Origins launched 10 years ago today, and sadly doesn't stand the test of time as well as its predecessors.

Petebloodyonion176d ago

I fail to grasp why this title is worse compared to Arkham City (according to the article) as the author didn't provide any argument to explain why aside from that it felt the bigger map compared to Arkham Asylum made the experience less tight.
More importantly, the author seems like he never played Arkham City since he described the game as linear (alongside Asylum).

The Unjustly Forgotten Batman: Arkham Origins Deserves A Resurgence

Despite certain flaws, Batman: Arkham Origins is a splendid entry in the legendary Arkham series and deserves better than being forsaken.

lellkay289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

It's the worst of the three in my opinion, but still really enjoyable. Definitely underated and gets far more crap that it deserves.

Should be included with the other Arkham games in the bundle.

Demetrius289d ago

I'm honestly enjoying it alot, my first time playing since I just decided to get a Xbox 360 slim for 65$, I cop some other gems too tho, I went into Arkham origins not expecting better than Arkham city but it does deliver plus the guy who voices batman did a good job aiming for the young Bruce impression
