GameInFormer August Cover Revealed – Battleborn

Gearbox Software became a household name for gamers last generation with the hit Borderlands series. Borderlands was an experience gamers didn't even know they wanted, wrapping a fusion of first-person shooting and loot-grabbing RPG elements in a living comic book art style. Gearbox wants to change your perception of genres once again with Battleborn, a new IP being published by 2K Games for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Since when does this site get news about GI covers?

benzopil3573d ago

Because there is a lot of information about the game?

Heisenburger3573d ago

I see one every month. Idk how you can pretend to be bothered by this. Now we know that we will be getting info on this game shortly, as has been the case with every cover reveal. Quit looking for things to be upset about. Get real.

Every once in awhile it does. Have you never seen an article like this?

I have lost alot of respect for Gearbox. I really enjoyed Borderlands 1 and 2, but since then Gearbox has been crappy. Lets look at what I mean

Most of Borderlands 2 DLC was crap and they screwed over season pass purchasers by not giving them all the DLC.

Duke Nukem Forever was garbage.

Aliens Colonial Marines was garbage.

So, its a true case of what have you done for me lately and in Gearboxs case very little.

Borderlands sequel announced for last gen consoles with the excuse that there aren't enough next gen consoles, lol what a freaking joke, why release any games on new consoles then. What a crapola excuse Mr. Randy Pritchard or whatever your name is.

I just remembered where I heard that word before Skyrim has a clan called the battle borne, lol

Bethesda also announced their 5 vs 5 game which was similarly called Battlecry.

It at least deserved them moving it to a solo-able option post server shut-down, IMHO.

Agreed, that would have been the fair and decent thing to do.

Battleborn is Dead - The Need for Game Preservation in the Next Generation

William writes: "Battleborn was not the game I wanted it to be, it probably wasn't the game a number of you reading wanted it to be. But what it undeniably was was a game that a team of hundreds of people poured their hearts and souls into."

Game preservation is important.
Single-player campaign should always be offline. So that some part(s) of a certain game still lives through and can be enjoyed later.

Always Online games will always end up like this at some point. Offline SP campaign should ALWAYS be included.

Thinking that games ( and in particular this one ) will forever be lost, it makes me sad.

One of the funnier game i played with my friends. I like that one of the reason it failed is that it had many reviews like the one you did; criticizing the gameplay because it's 'too complex': because it had a skill tree and because there was different classes... My personal analysis of its failure is beacause of the Blizzard PR team: they saw a threat in it , and decided to kill it by paying professional reviews and counting on their fanboys to bash it and create a fake 'comparaison war' with it. The saddest thing is that this game will disappear forever. It casts, as others in the same situtation, a dark shadow on the future of video gaming. Hopefully there are and still will be 'pirates' to save and archive these for the future generations, that i hope will someday realize that consumerism is not the only solution.
