When listing the native resolutions of Xbox One exclusives is trolling, you know the Xbox One has some resolution issues. Feel free to correct me if you'd like I'll say it again. Forza 5 which was downgraded and Kinect Sports Rivals are the only Xbox One exclusives at 1080p. The rest are cross gen games that are available on the 360. All PS4 exclusives are displayed in 1080p, even The Order 1886.

Too bad it's not bad news for Xbox One owners. A bit of disappointing news maybe, but as long as the games come and they are enjoyable then who cares if they aren't 1080p as they will still be HD. Look as last gen for example, we had sub-hd, unstable frame rate on ps3/xbox360 and guess what? We all enjoyed the games didn't we.. I don't own an Xbox One yet, but once more games that I'm interested in start popping up I will be all over it and will enjoy them just as much as I enjoy my PS4 games while all offering different experiences.

Download a wallpaper or a screenshot that is availiable in both 1080p and 900p and view both of them on your TV alternately.

If you can't see a difference you're either sitting too far away from the TV / your TV is too small for your viewing distance or you don't have a 1080p TV.

Of course the difference isn't huge but it definately is visible to "the naked eye".

Dev re-confirms Xbone limitations.

Xbone fans rush to justify by throwing together lists of games (mostly cross gen, remake, or downgraded) that run at 1080p. So far the best looking game I have played is inFamous. So far the game I have had the most fun with is Dead Rising 3.

The only reason to buy Console A over Console B (assuming you only have one choice) is for the 1st party / exclusive games you like the most. Everything else is secondary.

Old news I agree, but everybody wants to justify their purchase. Microsoft wants everybody to believe that cloud computing is the future and that eSRAM is better for gaming.

When an article talks facts about about a certain product, it's natural to compare similar products. Ever read Car&Driver or Road&Track? For example, in an article about a new Mustang they will compare it to other sports cars in the price range or even the same category.

When an article states a fact that from a graphics/performance standpoint the xbox one is lacking. Naturally it will get compared to the relevant other players in the game mainly PS4. Now if an article was about the xbox being more fun than the competitors, then obviously making comparisons would be purely speculation and opinion. Like my opinion that I prefer xbox controllers to PS.

So to sum it up. Yeah, making comparisons on factual statements is fair game. Was the article about the PS? No, it was directed towards the slower performance of a certain next gen system. But comparing its performance to the PS is fair game because they are both two big players in the next gen market.

I think it's also imperative that we review the fact that in every single console generation the "winner" has never been the most powerful system on the market. PS2 held the highest market share despite being weaker than both the Xbox and Gamecube. I own both systems and the fact is.... ALOT of the 'precious' 1080p games on PS4 have pop-in up the ass and texture load at the beginning of levels like crazy (Trials Fusion, etc.) as well as dipping framerates (COD Ghosts) when on my XB1 ALL games put out 1080p either natively or upscaled and have nowhere near the issues I encountered on my PS4 games. Also the XB! has a more vibrant image in many of the cross platform games. To each his own. I love them both but lets be a bit more realistic and not dog the shit out of XB1 and praise the PS4 like its gold. Thats just stupid. As for upcoming games the XB1 is killing it while I am still waiting for Delayclub and its ongoing list of missing features (weather patched in later...WTF!?!) or a remastered PS3 game which will be awesome (The LAst of Us). XB1 is mostly hitting 1080p now and will going forward due to the gpu unlock 10% and newer updated sdks. Lets see a year from now what this all looks like.

I've played knack today, the first time I saw a ps4 game live in action. And I have to say the improvement over ps3 exclusive titles isn't all that big. Which is to be expected when you look at the hardware of the ps4. The big improvement with next gen (current gen) comes from the huge memory pool compared to last gen. What you can expect are bigger levels and stuff like that. But the processing power of both systems isn't all that great.
If you want to be in control of your graphics get a decent gaming PC otherwise shut up and play some games.... just my opinion !

Ive been lurking around this site (primarily for news) for about 6 months, everytime I read the comments, I just shake my head, either someone trolling, debating about resolution, comparing who has better exclusives. Just because you like something, doesn't mean the whole world has to follow, grow up kids, learn to respect each other.

I couldn't agree more on what you say. I go on this site because of the constant stream of articles but the comments sections drive me crazy with the people with their agendas. So many contributors have a selective memory when it comes to their favourite console. It doesn't help that some of the opinion pieces (key word here is 'OPINION' people) that are approved are clear flame bait and that people jump on them to justify their point of view and use the information in those pieces as fact to support their argument, the thing is that referencing an opinion piece as fact is the same as referencing a comment in this thread. It doesn't make it true.

It just turns in to the biggest school playground in the world. It's the same as the 'my Dad's better than your Dad' argument when you were five.

I bought a gaming laptop back in 2011. It still plays 1080p games fine so how the latest and greatest console can't manage it on EVERY game is beyond me. Huge fail.
