Mini Q&A
Answers by Tommaso De Benetti, Community Manager

Why do you make games?
Housemarque is the oldest gaming company in Finland – a company which key staff has been growing up first playing arcade games and then making arcade-inspired games on Amiga and other platforms. The love we have for that declination of gaming hasn't gone anywhere, and we feel proud that we are keeping that spirit alive almost 20 years later.

Why should people play your games?
There are a few key elements that are true to all our games: tight controls, rewarding gameplay mechanics, scoring systems based on skill, very pretty art direction. All Housemarque games are easy to pick up and hard to master. Also, we develop most of our tech in-house, and with each game we make sure to introduce something that hasn't been done before.

What element of game design do you hold above all others?
If I had to pick one it would probably be responsiveness. We want the player to feel one with the game – to be able to "be in the zone" and forget he's holding a pad in his hands.

More information on the cool looking game Replaced is needed. Hope that is not vaporware like The Last Night.
