Mind Blowing PS4 Exclusive Announcements Expected From Sony At Playstation E3 2014 Press Conference

E3 2014 is just few hours away and Playstation community are pretty excited about things Sony is going to showcase/announce on June 9. The firm recently confirmed a total of 70 games (not too surprising as it includes indie games, announced multiplatforms and exclusives). But what about the secret things that they have planned for the event?

DVS-Zev3608d ago

Incredibly misleading title.

ThatKanadianKid3608d ago

I'm surprised your surprised haha.

bintarok3607d ago

Been a routine for media outlets to bring out controversial or overblown titles in their submissions. They knew fans at N4G would always hungry for **console A was winning over console B** type of deal. It seems as if console war arguments are far more important than playing games. It becomes media war not just console war. Fans click is easy money for the media.

bennissimo3607d ago

That's mostly due to N4G being a rabid pro-Sony site. There are other less biased sites out there...

gigoran3607d ago

@Bennissmo

Don't make me laugh! Pro sony? Hahaha... The only reason there have been stories about the success of Sony recently is because of... Well... It's successful! It came out with the most powerful console this generation and has outsold the competition. Posting that isn't being pro Sony. It's called telling the truth.

And honestly, there have been HUNDREDS of posts with titles like "Microsoft announces unnamed game that is going to blow you socks off but we can't tell you what it's called" and yada yada yada. So it's not just Sony making these announcements.

"Mind Blowing PS4 Exclusive Announcements Expected From Sony At Playstation E3 2014 Press Conference"

"We decided to predicted what these secret unexpected, mind blowing unannounced/stuffs could be from Sony at their E3 2014 press conference?"

"Agent...The Last Guardian...Crash Bandicoot..."

Lol.

spicelicka3607d ago

LOL what a crap article, I was hoping it would some insider leak or something. Somebody report this crap.

yellowgerbil3608d ago

It's not misleading. It's Syphon Filter, and he is gunna head shot people like crazy on stage (mind blown)

No_Limit3608d ago

@DVS-Zev ,

Thanks for saving me of giving that site a click. I won't believe anything from these clowns as E3 is only a couple days away.

potedude3608d ago

My dream E3 announcements more like...

abstractel3608d ago

Keep expectations low... much better that way. I'm personally happy if I see gameplay from Uncharted and all the games I already know of like Mortal Kombat X, the new IP from From Software, Batman etc.

sinspirit3608d ago (Edited 3608d ago )

Misleading N4G article announcing nothing new and continues to copy and paste everything you'd find in the comment section of any game site.

This is seriously frustrating that this makes it through. This is NOT news. News needs to be new and needs justification. Whoever keeps approving these articles are the same kind of people that write these amateur articles that copy and paste other peoples ideas and try to write just like other journalists.

sinspirit3607d ago (Edited 3607d ago )

What is wrong with you?

Every mass produced product has a failure rate. This one so far has a low failure rate just like its predecessors. Boo hoo.

My Wii's disc drive didn't work and we camped out to get it. We sent it in and they couldn't replace it or fix it and send it back for whatever reason so we got a refund from the store. We waited two months calling occasionally about restocking and the few times we were told they had them we came by at early times and they were already gone. You can't have contempt because you lucked out. It sucks but this happens. It happened to my PS3 a few days after its warranty expired and they were still $500. I know it has a very low failure rate. I am generally an unlucky person so I guess I'm used to this.

meetajhu3607d ago

Most of them will be Vapourware. Half of them pre-rendered cg and rest running on PC hardware where the final quality of the game will look no where close to what they showed in E3. And only 1 game will look original what they intended to show.

Every year we hear this, we get loads of MS and Sony articles like this, don't fall for it sheeple

Expectation leads to disappointment

JoGam3608d ago (Edited 3608d ago )

Its these journalist creating hype and when E3 arrives it leaves everyone disappointed. Yeah it might be some great announcements but some of these articles sound like these companies will be announcing the coming of Christ. Smh!

iamnsuperman3608d ago

Can you blame them. This is their biggest moment in the year. The potential for more clicks which equals for more money

JoGam3608d ago (Edited 3608d ago )

@ iamnsuperman. Yup, Its crazy when you think about it. I can be a journalist for a site that makes money from hits. If I can create a fictitious war between consoles people will come and click to comment and battle over and over again. Cha Ching WOW. I'm in the wrong business.

TheWow3608d ago

The money really isn't great for the smaller guys, but for large companies like IGN and such, they certainly profit from recycling the concept of a console war among other practices, and a lot of people fall for it.

It really should be abandoned but they're quite dependent on it.

GenericNameHere3608d ago

MS didn't showcase Titanfall as the second coming of Christ, but jurnalizs sure did. Serious hyperbole from the press before Titanfall launched.

TheTowelBoy3608d ago

Big reason why I'm avoiding the leaks/insider shit. Going in with no expectations this year.

Hellsvacancy3608d ago (Edited 3608d ago )

It's best, E3 has let me down too many times in the past, it was my fault for buying into all the hype that builds before e3, insider rumours etc

I'm done with all that, I might not even watch it live, just download it after and skip to the "hopefully" good bits

It was me who disagreed with you........ by mistake, I bubbled you for being intelligent

jessupj3607d ago

I concur.

I haven't read a single prediction article or leak. I'm literally going in blind and have no idea what to expect.

Any games that get shown and announced are going to be exciting.

eezo3608d ago

give me crash bandicoot and ps4 features DNLA, MP3 Playback and AGENT for Playstation 4 and it will be the best E3 of my life

XiSasukeUchiha3608d ago

Just an expolsion of games and annoucement that's was I'm expecting:)

xx4xx3608d ago

Yes. I too am expecting game related announcements at the upcoming game focused conference.

weekev153608d ago

Tbh Uncharted 4 gameplay is all I care about from Sony, the rest is a bonus. Some kind of release date would be nice as well, although I guess thats optimistic at this stage.

dRanzer3608d ago

i dont think they will show demo/gameplay of uncharted 4
maybe 3 min trailler

MrSec843608d ago

The game's been in development for over 3 years, that's longer than any past game in the series.

IMO it's probably close to being finished, likely a holiday 2014 release, that would fit with when they released their 1st game on PS3 & PS2.
Now whether Sony will do a stage demo, with someone playing the game on PS4 is of course up for debate, I think they'll probably have a gameplay trailer, something with a lot of action, running off of proper PS4 hardware.

Bethesda Needs to Reduce the Gaps Between New Fallout and Elder Scrolls Releases

Waiting a decade for new instalments in franchises as massive as Fallout and Elder Scrolls feels like a waste.

Microsoft have Obsidian but I feel it's Bethesda who just don't want to play ball as they've always said they want to do it themselves.

Once MS bought Zenimax in 2020 they should have put the Outer Worlds 2 on the back burner, allow Bethesda to finish off its own Space RPG with Starfield (despite totally different tone why have two in your first party portfolio with two developers who's gameplay is a tad similar) and got Obsidian for one of their projects to make a spiritual successor to New Vegas.

When the Elder Scrolls VI is finished Bethesda can then onto the main numbered Fallout 5 themselves.

The Outer Worlds 2 started development in 2019 so putting it on the back burner wouldn't have been the end of the world, they'd have always come back to it once Fallout was done and it would have been nicely spaced out from Starfields release once they had most likely stopped supporting it and all the expansions were released.

If they did this back in 2020 when they bought Zenimax and the game had a good, steady 4 - 5 years development, you might have seen it release in 2025.

We are literally going to be waiting until 2030 at the very earliest for Fallout 5 and all they seem bothered about is pushing Fallout 76.

RaidenBlack9h ago(Edited 9h ago)

Its not just only Todd not playing ball.
Obsidian have made a name for themselves in delivering stellar RPGs, but most famous once have always been sequels/spin-offs to borrowed IPs like KOTOR 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Stick of Truth etc.
Obsidian wants to invest more in their own original IPs like Outer Worlds or Pillars of Eternity with Avowed.
Similar to what Bluepoint & inXile wants to do or Kojima is doing (i.e not involving anymore in Konami's IPs).
So yea, even if New Vegas has the most votes from 3D Fallout fans, Obsidian just wants to do their own thing, like any aspiring dev studio and MS is likely currently respecting that.
But a future Fallout game from Obsidian will surely happen. Founder Feargus Urquhart has already stated an year ago that they're eager to make a new Fallout game with Bethesda, New Vegas 2 or otherwise. Urquhart was the director of the very first 1995's Fallout game after all.
And don't forget Brian Fargo and his studio inXile, as Brian Fargo was the director of Fallout's 1988 predecessor: Wasteland

KyRo5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Obsidian should take over the FO IP. They're do far better with it than Bethesda who hasn't made a great game for almost 15 years

Duke195h ago(Edited 5h ago)

I disagree. Part of these games is the support for the mod community. If they move to releasing a "next game" every 2 or 3 years, the modding support plummets and the franchises turn into just another run of the mill RPG.

Make the games good enough to withstand the test of time, to keep people coming back to them and expanding on them with mod support.

--Onilink--2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

I dont think anyone is saying they need to come out every 2 years (not to mention almost no game is released that quickly anymore)

By the time Fallout 5 comes out, it will be more than 15 years since Fallout 4 came out (same with ES6 coming out 15 years after Skyrim). Even if you want to use F76 as the metric for the most recent release, that one came out in 2018. It will be a miracle if F5 comes out before 2030

The point is that for a studio that doesnt seem to operate with multiple teams doing several projects at once, that their projects normally take 4-5 years as a minimum, and that now they even added Starfield to the rotation, it becomes a 15+ years waiting period between releases for each series, which doesnt make sense. Imagine that Nintendo only released a mainline Mario or Zelda game every 15 years…

They either need to start developing more than 1 project at a time, let someone else take a crack at one of the IPs or significantly reduce their development times

Duke191h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Why should someone else take a crack at one of the IPs? Look at what happened to Final Fantasy as a recent example - there is pretty clear FF fatigue setting in because they are now pumping out titles in the franchise every few years. Pumping out more games faster doesn't always make a series better.

There are plenty of options to make new games, not just create more titles in the same universe at a faster pace.

mandf2h ago

Yeah I’m going to say it, who cares about the modding community when making a game? Half the time developers only tolerate modders because they fix there game for them.

Skuletor4h ago

Yeah, let's all advocate for smaller gaps between series' releases, then we'll probably get headlines about how the series have dropped in quality and they could have benefited from more time in the oven. Let them cook.

SimpleSlave3h ago

"how the series have dropped in quality and they could have benefited from more time in the oven" So every Bethesda game then? Got it.

Listen, I would agree if this was about From Software or something, but Bethesda?

🤣

C'mon now. What timeline are you from?

Skuletor1h ago

Think about it, they're already bug filled messes on their current schedule, can you imagine how much worse it would be if they rushed things?

Duke191h ago

I mean you aren't wrong. People are going to complain about anything

isarai3h ago

Hows about you focus on quality, just a thought 🤷‍♂️

Sciurus_vulgaris2h ago

Bethesda [or Microsoft] would have to reallocate internal and external studios towards fallout and elder scrolls titles. Bethesda has the issue of developing 2 big IPs that are large RPGs on rotation. If you want more Fallout and Elder Scrolls, development will have to be outsourced.
