I somehow can't get excited for 2D Pokemon anymore and I can't understand why Nintendo isn't keen on going 3D with it. There has to at least SOME AMBITION left at the guys from Gamefreak... how boring must it be to recycle everything every 2 years?

Exactly, this excuse would be valid 5 years ago, not now. Nope. They need some true 3d. If they can then they should wait at least 4 years, develop a kicka*s 3D game. third person, first person etc.

Pokemon X and Y from what I have seen are not 2D like its predecessors. Hell it looks like pretty much the whole game is 3D

Sorry but believe it or not that would dumb the game down. Pokemon has more depth than most actually realize.

Nature's, EV's, IV's and Team Composition are hard things to understand as an outsider to competitive Pokemon.

This game just needs to change graphically but expecting that on a 3DS beyond what has already changed is like expecting Crysis 3 at ultra settings on a PS3.

How many Pokemon games have you played? One or two probably. Stop trying to have a minority opinion all the time in hopes of a community wide agreement.

I see nothing wrong with Pokemon and its almost yearly installments. These milked games deliver every time with plenty of happy buyers, and still manage to update the core experience every 2-4 years like Red->Gold->Ruby->Pear l->Black->X.

These games have each made huge changes to the series throughout the years to deepen the core mechanics and keep the visuals and features up to industry standards. To this day, I dont think no game has the depth that Pokemon offers and that is due to the additions each core entry has added to the franchise

What are you even rambling about? Are you accusing me of TRYING TO HAVE A MINORITY OPINION? O.o

I probably know much better than you how game development works, of course it was a slight exaggeration. I'm just sick of seeing almost no evolution to one of my favourite RPG franchises during the last 20 years even though they have more than enough ressources to make it happen. Why did Zelda go 3D? GTA? Final Fantasy? Pokemon could be so much bigger if they would just have the ambition to do it and I can't believe that there are people out there who want it to stay like it is. I would take a 3D remake of Red/Blue over a new 2D game anyday.

I can't wait! I missed out on Generation III because I didn't have a Game Boy Advance, but this will certainly make up for it. These scans show that the games will pretty much be in the same format of Pokemon X and Y. At least, I hope this is how it will be.
