Evolve's hunters tracked down in gameplay video

Joystiq: This trailer for Evolve introduces each of the game's four hunters in video form, showing their unique abilities in action as they team up to take beasts down. Turtle Rock Studios' four-versus-one shooter will launch October 21 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

And balanced as well. It's important that every class is competitive and fun to play. If they can nail that aspect I'm definately interested.

The more I see the more I like

does this game only have one game mode? if it does i really hope it doesn't have a 60 dollar tag

It's 4 player coop Vs 1 player as the monster. The hunters are FPS, the monster is third person crash and bash. Hopefully they'll show off the scope of the maps soon, from what they've said they're supposedly pretty big.

I'm usually not into online mutiplayer, but this game is on my radar. So far the maps seem to vary nicely and there looks like a good selection of characters, they've only shown a couple of the monsters so far. I really like the inclusion of wildlife as well, both as prey and predators. E3's gonna be a good one!

This game could be fun but with friends and even so i can see problems because this is a team base game regarding the hunters and since all of them are so differente and have very specific roles im pretty sure that only one or two characters will be fun to play with and them no one wants to play with the others and this by norm tends to break the game in my view, this is not a 6vs6 32vs32 its four against one do you want to play with the bad ass guy or with the one that needs to hide and cure the remaining.A good game for people that have a clan for online play but for the rest...not so sure.

I wanna play as the monster, I'd rather rely on myself :p

I'll mess around with all the other stuff too though and see what role I slip into. Different people have different playstyles, some people prefer strategy over run and gun.

I am one of those people. The idea of luring the monster out, snaring him with those harpoon traps, and then going to town on him is very alluring to me. It seems pretty strategic, and I can see myself having fun in any of those roles, including the monster.

For me, it's about the sense of victory and accomplishment when either slaying the monster or defeating the hunters. To do either, from what we've seen, seems to require a good bit of strategy and cooperation. This is a game that I'm watching closely, and I hope that it's successful.

Maggie? Simpsons copyright. Pre-order cancelled.

Sarcasm aside, Hyde looks awesome. Fits my play style more. Maggie and Lazurus seem more tactical. Of course I'm only 2 minutes in, so expect an edit.

Edit: What's the premise. Are the monsters threatening humanity, or are the hunters just scaredy cats like the D.U.P hunting down the scary monsters? Hopefully it's the first one.

Evolve or Die: The final days of the follow-up to Left 4 Dead

Back in 2016, Turtle Rock announced that support for its 4v1 monster-hunting shooter Evolve would end but fans wouldn't let it die.

‘Evolve: Stage 2’ is back from the dead as peer-to-peer servers come back online

From NME: "Evolve: Stage 2 had its multiplayer servers shut down back in 2018, but today players are once again able to matchmake and join peer-to-peer multiplayer games.

Several months ago, peer-to-peer functionality was lost for Evolve Legacy, which was the only way fans of the series could play with friends. Upon a multitude of players reaching out to publisher 2K, the issue was eventually fixed earlier in July. It seems 2K have gone a step further now, and reinstated peer-to-peer and matchmaking functionality for Evolve: Stage 2 after four years."

^^this, I have so many awesome skins on Xbox that I’d rather not lose

Germaximus629d ago

Yes so far because it's just the servers alone coming on and the console version never had the free-to-play update.

I imagine if they find people playing the PC version and enough players are enjoying it then they'd probably reconsider opening console as well but I wouldn't count on it.

The game was epic as a monster. Hunters were really boring to play as to me.

I used to play this a bit.

Was kinda fun.

Great idea but poorly executed and destined to fail from the begging. Only thing I’m grateful towards this game is that it’s the one that convinced me to never buy a game blind again.

Shadowrun for the Xbox 360/PC would of been a better example of a great online game that launched At the wrong time.

Livingthedream1098d ago

Shadow Run was fantastic! Would probably do alot better now.

Is this a new evolve game??
