Square Enix Considering Dragon Quest X Release Outside Japan

Square Enix is holding its financial Earning call for the past fiscal year, and Macquarie Securities Senior Research Analyst David Gibson is reporting on Twitter about the most interesting point. If you’ve been following Dragon Quest X and wanted a western version there are potential good news.

* Dragon Quest 11 - 3DS/PS4/Wii U

* Dragon Quest 10 - PC/Wii U

* Dragon Quest 10 - PS4/Wii U the single player experience

Give the PS4 release, visually close to their CG opening.

Make DQ10 cross-play between the PS3/PS4/PC/Wii U and that everyone could play with each other.
There's not enough gamers on just 1 platform to justify the release of an MMO, but 4? Hell Yeah!
You can also give enhanced visuals since the minimum would be the PS3 rather than the Wii.

I'd pretty much given up hope for a localization of DQX so if it does then awesome!!!... and if not, well, it's not like I was expecting it in the first place. If it does well enough maybe we'll see that DQVII remake across the ocean as well ^_^

I seriously didn't understand what the hell is happening with SE. Someone please enlighten me! >.<

I mean, in the old days Squaresoft is very aggresive when it comes to localizing their games. They localized games like Ehrgeiz, Brave Fencer Musashi, Vagrant Story, Front Mission, Xenogears, or games that doesn't have Final Fantasy in the front cover.

But right now, SE even CONSIDERING to localize Dragon Quest X, a franchise that really F*kin popular. Hell, they even didn't care to localize FF Type-0, a game that have Final F*kin Fantasy in the front cover!

There's something wrong with SE and i don't know the answer. But i hope SE take a cue from Bamco, Xseed, Atlus, TK, or NISA. Lately those companies gain a lot of popularity and fans. And it's not impossible if someday they will replace SE as the ultimate destination for JRPG's.

Yeah, I remember when type-0 came out. Someone asked "will it be localized?" And I was like "what kind of question is that? It has FINAL FANTASY in the title. Of course it will be." Suffice to say, I feel a fair bit silly now.

I have no idea what is going on at SE, apparently they no longer like to make money and instead release games that no one asked for (FFXIII-2 and 3)

They should have used the resources on those games to localize and release more games like DQX and FF Type -0 for everyone to actually buy and enjoy.

My hope for them is left with just FFV and Kingdom Hearts 3. If they mess up on those games, then it's game over for them.

FINAL-ly square is getting out of that bad FANTASY and is coming back whit the good games I'm in love whit ff 14 (ff 13 kill the fantasy for me but they're back!)

wii online support is going to be done if not already.. It would have to be wii u only for me.. & why wouldnt they release it? That would be just plain stupid not to but the hype for the game is prolly dead by now & there will only be a niche group of ppl that get it
