Outlast, and Outlast: Whistleblower are scary games and they have some wonderful set pieces and have some events that could easily setup some future events for the Outlast series. Seriously, this game deserves a sequel and it’s a series I can’t recommend enough for horror fans. It’s good, and the DLC was even better than the core game. Without further ado I’ve compiled a list of things I’d like to see pop up, or even happen in case we get a second iteration in the franchise.
The Xbox One is full of SPOOKS, and that's all you should know about. Here is a list of the best horror games on the system.
A lot of my favourites are on this list so I whole heartedly approve.
Everything except The Observer. It started out really interesting but quickly unraveled into a train wreck. Including frustratingly dull dives into mind sequences, They neutered the monster with boring on rail stealth sequences and a laughably obvious and cringeworthy ending. Mix in bugs and some wonky controls to boot.
I had really strong impressions with it to start but ended up absolutely hating it.
Soma would be more existential horror than anything but I'll be damned if it didn't have one of the best stories in game that I've experienced. Blew my mind.
The spooky season is at last upon us, making the next couple of weeks the perfect time for a healthy helping of horror. There's no shortage of options out there, so here are a few suggestions to get the ball rolling!
I remember the suffering and it was descent game. I always wanted to play Crimson but never got to it.
But honestly, I’ve never played a game that really scared me, like some movies from the past have.
Outlast, the classic horror game from former Ubisoft developers Red Barrels, has a new speedrun world record, as SGDQ begins its 2022 livestream
Outlast 2 in VR. That is all.
It's amazing how well the DLC crosses over with the events of the original game. Storytelling done right. The feeling you get after escaping the asylum is just so freaking great. Makes you feel like a true survivor
It’s the noise that really gets you in Outlast’s Mount Massive Asylum. The creak of each floorboard, the moaning of each bough in this decrepit madhouse, the steady whumph of a ceiling fan dripping blood, the dull tone of a phone left off the hook, faraway screams that curdle the veins and your own panicked, desperate struggle for breath, when I played it on PS vita remote play with headphones on I screamed so much my wife watching drama on TV jumped out of chair. Pmpl
Fuck I love these games. The outlast series (hopefully) has made its way to my top 5 games. I understand it has a few flaws. But the enjoyment i have gotten from outlast, and whistleblower is right up there with any other game.
I'm looking forward to any news about the future of outlast. Any new game or DLC will be a day 1 for me.
