I sure hope it meets its expectations. Sometimes the gaming crowd can be pretty picky. I am hoping for the best. I think most of us are rooting for it. That sure is a high cost though...

Stuart57563641d ago

I hope it pays off for Bungie, Bobby Kotick and Activision are greedy. You've got a world class dev working for the biggest a-hole publishers ever. Look at what they've done to franchises in the past, COD, Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero, they care about what makes money and they milk it dry. If COD dies and Destiny becomes the next big Activision payload what happens to all the COD devs? What happened to Neversoft before the merger, 50 employees were laid off on February 11, 2010. Sony should publish Destiny.

DLConspiracy3641d ago

I worry that's a lot of money to expect a return on. I Hope it happens for sure. Not sure Sony would be able to handle that on their own. They are shifting a lot of money around as is to make the company work. It's a new title, even if it is Bungie. It's a new title and it looks awesome, but it could be something that kills them. 15-18 million copies sold... phewww. That's scary. It could do it. I think for sure it's going to be the #1 selling game this year.

JMyers3641d ago

I hope it does for Bungie.

GarrusVakarian3641d ago (Edited 3641d ago )

Agreed, there's been a lot of bitterness towards them after they decided to go multiplat, but i still remember them as the guys that got me into the Xbox brand. I will always respect and support them. One of the industries best, imo.

JMyers3641d ago

Yes definitely one of the the Industry's best.

So far I like all of the Destiny reveals and gameplay. Really looking forward to this game :)

urwifeminder3641d ago

I think I will pick it up cheap down the line I have so many games going , would like a pc version tbh so I may wait a year or six months before picking this up.

PSN_ZeroOnyx3641d ago

So I read somewhere Destiny was going to be supported for years down the road, and it's on a galactic scale, so plenty of new worlds and extras thrown into many DLC drops will help boost earnings. I'm hoping to get into the PS4 beta.

No_Limit3641d ago (Edited 3641d ago )

Do activision have any other choice? I mean, besides COD, which is slowly declining in terms of sales, what other IPs do they have? They need to lay all their eggs in the Destiny basket and hope this turns out to be the next COD for them because once COD craze dies, then the company might be in serious trouble. For all the hate that EA gets, at least they have multiple franchises to fall under from Battlefield, Titanfall, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Star Wars, and etc.

AHall883641d ago

CoD is very, very, very, slowly declining, it'll still be making them money for year unless there is a sudden and shocking drop in sales.
Plus Activision is part of Activision Blizzard, which has WoW that makes them buckets of money a month.
So, Activision is fine either way really.

Look, to be honest the FTC should just stop.

MS has A/B and nothing has really changed yet...if you are worried about 5-10 years from now...just drop it cause the future is unpredictable.

Take this week's news, that 4 Xbox exclusive are going Multiplatform.

Yeah man I think Microsoft here getting to probe is kinda wrong unless you only have accessed to necessary information not complete access imo.

Abriael77d ago

Obviously they aren't giving them the password to Sony's computers and telling them "help yourself."

Eonjay76d ago

"Microsoft allowed to probe Sony and Ubisoft"

Sounds hot...

ApocalypseShadow77d ago (Edited 77d ago )

Maybe Microsoft should also talk and get help from their "congressional influencers" at The Capital. They had plenty to say on the matter before the acquisition. They are mighty quiet after the purchase went through. Almost as if they had a stake in the matter.

Abriael77d ago

Could you perhaps explain how this is related? I'm honestly curious since you seem to bring it up rather often.

S2Killinit76d ago

He is pointing out how corrupt MS is, and how money talks. I think.

KwietStorm_BLM76d ago

I would say read between the lines but it's pretty damn clear as it is.

Bathyj77d ago

You should be careful upsetting Sony too much Microsoft.
You might need them to sell your subpar games soon.

TornRaptor77d ago

The games will become the best things ever all of a sudden.

Bathyj77d ago

Yeah I really doubt that.
I'm struggling to think of one I really cared about missing.

Hofstaderman77d ago

Bwhahahaha. Ain't that the truth.

Mr_cheese76d ago

The only exclusive im personally interested in from Microsoft is Elderscrolls and that's not even got s release date.

Everything else is genuinely of none interest.

OtterX77d ago

Microsoft never waits for the probing to be consensual.

derek76d ago

This isn't a major victory. They're essentially being allowed to call witnesses in regards to agreements they reached with Sony and Ubisoft which was initially blocked because Microsoft didn't make the request through the proper channels. This case is dead, there is no way the ftc will be allowed to unwind this acquisition.

Sephiroushin76d ago

they probably know case is death but want some proof to sue them for a few millions regarding other stuff, the ftc loves to sue everyone, be sure that as soon as all this end they will just go sue MS and end in a settlement.
