Well, pleasant surprise for Spidy.

TitanFall at #2, talk about staying power

Sitting tall above numerous games that are available on 4 and 5 platforms.

ltachiUchiha3640d ago

Yeah I mean thats really amazing for a game only on one platform. /s

Staying Power - Official slogan of Axios2 ;)

On topic: Very surprised to see Spiderman do this well, imo it looks garbage. Most likely people were buying it based on it's title alone. I wonder if it would have taken the top spot if they had actually seen some gameplay beforehand, lol.

Webbyy3640d ago

Nah, I would not be surprise if spidey falls like a rock next week. The movie carried the game basically.

Allsystemgamer3640d ago

It's also the only AAA aside from exclusives that's released recently........AND IS AVAILABLE on 3 platforms so I don't see what you're getting at.

NewMonday3640d ago (Edited 3640d ago )

@Axios2

the game is bundled free, and it is only a couple of weeks old for the 360, also games are drying up for the XBone, so gamers don't have much choice, that is why it is still up only in the UK.

if you check the rest of Europe the game is doing bad, even on 360/PC so it is gone.

Bigpappy3640d ago

Come on Sony guys. Just give credit where it's due. Titan Falls is still very popular and is doing amazingly well for a new IP. No need to try and down play that fact. If will not drop out of the top 5 for months to come, because there are just not enough great games on the horizon to displace it. It being a top online multiplayer, will guarantee it stays hot until at least Dynasty

dantesparda3640d ago

@bigpappy

Nope i agree with Newmonday, It comes free with the system, is fairly new on 360 and is on 3 platforms and there arent many other games to choose from on the X1. And they dont even give you the numbers. And if the game had done as well as you fanboys want the rest of us to believe, MS or EA would have come out by now and said the game sold "X" amount of games. Yet they havent. So much for being a COD killer.

AsimLeonheart3640d ago (Edited 3640d ago )

Desperate one bubble troll doing a Kamikaze attack in support of his beloved Titanfall before he crashes and burns (gets banned once and for all). Also forgets to consider that the game is available on THREE platforms with an 80 million console installed base on Xbox 360. Or may be he did consider it and that is why compared it to games available on nothing less than FOUR or FIVE platforms. lol.

@bigpappy

The game has sold well but it has not proven to be a system seller for the Xbone, did not sell gangbusters and it did not prove to be a revolutionary blockbuster as predicted. Those are its biggest failures. A title hyped to be equal to the second coming of Jesus but barely crossed over a million or even 2 million on THREE platforms is nothing short of a flop. Furthermore, there are no official sales numbers for it even after 2 months which are a proof of its disappointing performance.

This is why developers continue to make crappy movie tie in games, people buy them regardless.

Codey473639d ago

Who'da thunk it.

A half assed attempt from Activision could topple the mighty Titanfall from Activision Respawned.

Even for a measly week.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad591d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g591d ago (Edited 591d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad872d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal870d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
