Battlefield 4 – DICE Suggests Sub 50 Player Limit For Rented Servers On PS4 and Xbox One

Exactly why I'm boycotting the next one, I remember at launch being exited to shell out money for the game and what I ended up with was broken garbage, surprisingly this years cod actually looks great and since I haven't bought one since mw2 I may just give that a go instead

Maybe you should. If you like repetitive 6v6 then it's better for you. I like war games with war like numbers in war like settings. Cod hasn't done that, ever. So my thing is bf. I can think of multiple shooters with 6v6 limits that I'd rather play than cod.

we may get BF5 before they fix the mess which is BF4, they release a patch to fix few issues but it seems every patch brings with it new issues

I hate custom servers on BF people just seem to create servers with one map at max tickets do you realize how boring that gets

I personally love playing on those servers. I never played battlefield for 15 minute matches. The matches I play are at least an hour long per game. Gives me plenty of time for immersion in the battlefield with sniping as well as a legitimate reason to use tactics and strategy. (I play conquest only) or I will play meat grinder which is hilariously good fun if you don't mind a bad k/d

There are a few great maps that I could spend hours playing on, I hate when I join a map I want to play and it quickly switches to one that I don't. It's best if you play with friends since it will probably be unbalanced if the admins are lazy or cowards.

There are some servers that have only the best maps, those are nice too.

I am so fed up with these continuous shenanigans. And what's most frustrating in all of it is how bloody close BF4 is to utter greatness. I imagine that game, without the bugs and glitches, and it's a magnificent dream... but only a dream.

Grr. The only lasting appeal of shooters is the multiplayer. Hopefully Advanced Warfare will have a nice long CAMPAIGN where I can enjoy a game WITHOUT paying for PSN and getting pwned by stuff like this.

Wolfenstien the new order seems to be the best contender for a first person shooter with an enjoyable long campaign. Also it does not have multi-player.

Traded it in the following week for more..

As of the last few days all of my problems with the rubber banding and lag have gone away. All of the 64 player games I have joined recently have been rubber banding free. I play on PS4 by the way. It would be horrible if they limited the player count on the rented servers to anything other that 64. But I see no reason for a limit like 50 or 40 this seems like a glitch and not just the server struggling with the player count.

i havent had issues this last few days either on ps4.
some maps have had tiny amount of rubber banding in trucks,but not game breaking.
still 10x better than ghosts

I gave Ghosts a shot (pun intended) at my buddy's house on PS4 have to say I have more fun playing BO2 on PS3 or Unit 13 for Vita.
I have been big into battlefield since Battlefield Modern Combat, and am also a veteran of BF BC2, BC2 Vietnam, BF 1943, BF3. I really hope and have to say I really think the quality issues steam from having to release BF4 on 5 systems. This is the First time that they have released a game on this many systems at or around the same time. At most they had 1 game release on 3 systems around the same time this being BF3. Sorry about the tangent its late and I am about to go to bed.

With 50 players it is much more fun. You dont die that much and it is possible to play a little bit sneaky in my opinion.

Does somebody mind explaining what's broken with bf4? People just say its broken and then people agree by repeating the statement in different ways but never actually say what's wrong. I've had the game since it came out and I honestly have no idea what you're referring to

I've not had many problems either. Though for many there is rubberbanding issues, hit count issues and lag problems. I think there are problems with lag compensation on many occasions, but people don't complain when they benefit from it. It does seem to me at times that who dies in a shootout is random. All in all though it has been a good game. I wouldn't pre-order BF5 though. I'll let others beta test it.

It is/was broken depending on the game mode you were playing. The smaller than last-gen bf4 10vs10 tdm/dom etc worked fine for me (I call it CoD mode since there's no vehicles), I don't usually play those modes very long but 64 player CQ was rubber banding garbage and I could only take so much. I assume ea made it 10vs10 so they could use their low quality servers which couldn't handle 15 vs 15.

The (non-existant?) team balancing was the 2nd most annoying thing, even after a map change. Dying behind impenetrable cover. Helicopters not having below radar VS air vehicles (tons of things can kill you). Jets OP in some situations. Dog tag covering up the other dog tag on kill cams. Etc...
